Future of Broward County Track - Boys Edition

I'm baaaack! This is part two for Middle School Future Stars. Last blog I talked about all the girl middle schoolers and now it's time for the boys rising to the top. A lot of boys who are running on Monday have a huge chance of making a mark in the middle school history books.

This meet has spawned many male superstars that are still competing today. Boys like Jabari Hill who runs the 400 and the 110mh for Miramar High School and was county champ in the 400 when he was in middle school. On Monday, April 29. a lot of boys records will bite the dust and a battle of many power house teams will come to end.

Now lets get down to business, 8th grader, Damion Thomas will be the favorite to win the 100m hurdles, with the fastest time coming in at a 14.28. He will have to battle with his teammate, Deandre Miles for the 400m title though; as they both ran :54s to qualify in two different heats. Mr. Miles didn't stop at the 400, he's also running the 100m & 200m. Speaking of the 100m a total of eight boys are running between 11.4 and 11.8 so this race should be a great one to watch.  In the 200 Emmanuel Greene from Silver Lakes will press Deandre as he did in the qualifier running a close 2nd in a time of 23.89.

Now when it comes to the relays, everything will come down to who shows up and who wants the win more. In all of the relays it will be between Sawgrass Middle School, Lauderdale Lakes, and William Dandy as they all are seperated by just tenths in their qualifying times. As for team standing the race will come down between Lauderdale Lakes and William Dandy but with such a strong overall team showing it is Lauderdale Lakes title to lose.

Boys Watch List

Jermey Taylor: 110m hurdles - William Dandy
Kenario Jean: 100m - William Dandy
Derveran Valcine: 1600m - Lauderdale Lakes
Stanley Beasley: 800m - Lauderdale Lakes
Trevon Grimmes: 200 - Sawgrass Middle

All these boys are going to have to show up in order to make their place be known this Monday. That's it for my first blog, Follow me on Twitter @micheeellleeee and on Instagram @micheeeeellee.
