2013 Track & Field Athlete of the Year: Jeremiah Green - Boys Field Events

There is no doubt Florida is one of the most talented states in the country when it comes to track and field. We wanted to honor the best of the best with our 2013 Track & Field Athlete of the Year Awards. Jeremiah Green of Hillsborough High School is our winner in the Boys Field Event category. Green claimed indoor and outdoor national titles in the triple jump, clearing 50 feet in five track and field meets this season, and posting the longest leap in the nation for 2013.

Heading into his senior year, Green wanted to be known as more than just a jumper. The fact he was able to put up the numbers he did while also competing in the 100 and 200 made it even more impressive. The Terrier star ran personal bests of 10.64 and 21.45, while improving over a foot in the long jump and triple jump over the past year. He started off his 2013 season with a victory at the New Balance Indoor Nationals with a mark of 51-6.5, the top jump in the U.S. by nearly two feet. It was an improvement of three feet four inches from 2012 where he finished fifth.

On the outdoor circuit, the University of Alabama signee was unbeatable in the the triple jump. He won his second straight state championship in the event and went onto accomplish the same feat of two in a row at New Balance Outdoor Nationals. His mark of 52-2 gave him the top spot in the national rankings and the cherry on top to a stellar career.

Congratulations to Jeremiah Green our 2013 Athlete of the Year for the Boys Field Events!
