In Her Own Words: Darrielle McQueen - Two Meets In One Week To Kickoff Senior Season

What a busy week of track and field! I began my season this past
Tuesday at Lincoln competing in both long and triple jump from short approaches. There was much excitement as I was nearing the start of my senior track and field season.

I saw many familiar faces from the track and field community and some new faces. Tuesday was a great meet to see where I am in my training and to work on my technique. I was happy with my results; however, I was sure not to complacent.

This Saturday was aa beautiful day for the Jessie Forbes Invitational track and field meet with warm Florida weather. It was well attended with good competition. It was also a great meet to continue working on the fundamentals of my jumping and to see where additional work needs to be done. Although I fell short of my goals for today, I am very anxious to get back to work and make improvements. It was bitter sweet knowing today was my last time competing at the Jessie Forbes Invitational.

“Good, better, best. Never let it rest until your good is better and your better is best.” More to come next week as I compete at the Larry Clark Invitational next Saturday in Bainbridge, Georgia.
