VOTE: Gibbons, Khosla MileSplit National Performers of the Week

For the second straight week, two Florida athletes have made their way onto the MileSplit National Performer of the Week poll. Last week it was Tsion Yared and Ryan Rodriguez for their performances at the flrunners.com Invitational 15, this week Pre-State champions Rafaella Gibbons and Sukhi Khosla get their spotlight. Hurry up and get your vote in. Voting closes tonight at 8 p.m.!

Gibbons showed why she is one of the fastest frosh in the state, battling it out with Kayley Delay for a majority of the race, but shifting into another gear in the final meters of the race. Her time of 17:52.12 was a little more than three seconds shy of the course record set by Rachel Givens in 2012, and marked her second time under 18 minutes this year, a week after running 17:49.14 for a sixth place showing at Great American. Watch the race.

Vote For Rafaella!

Khosla was just Khosla at Pre-State. The senior rested comfortably with the lead group and then turned it on after the second mile. Although, he didn't hit his goal of a new state record of 14:47 and change, he did record his second sub 15 minute time on this course and second Pre-State win in as many years. As impressive as his time was the fact that he won by twenty seconds of the best of the best statewide. This is Khosla's second time being nominated for MileSplit Performer of the Week this year. Watch the race.

Vote For Sukhi!

Congratultations to 7th grader Tsion Yared of Pine Crest for winning the vote last week. Yared racked up 1,457 votes (51.28%) to take home National Performer of the Week honors!
