Bailey To Takeover For Butler As Holy Trinity T&F Coach

Holy Trinity Academy has found their next head track and field coach and the hire comes from within. Marc Bailey who has been an assistant under Doug Butler for the past three years will take over the helm after Butler was dismissed from the program last month.

Bailey served as the head track and field coach at Merritt Island from 1998-2000. During his time at Holy Trinity, the Tigers won two boys state track and field titles, a girls state title and a runner-up finish. He says it was his great privilege to serve along side Butler and only hopes to continue the rich tradition the former coach built.
"The decision to take over the track and field program was not an easy one. Coach Butler’s tireless work ethic and commitment to excellence created a culture that transformed the lives of countless young people.  Ultimately, it was these “young people” that swayed me to stay."

The training philosophy between the new coach and old coach won't change. Bailey's Tigers will continue to train hard, pay attention to details, and represent themselves and families with honor. He says the kids at Holy Trinity are high character student athletes at that are passionate about everything they do.

"I fully expect the leaders on this team to rally all team members to continue in our tradition of “hard work” and “dedication”. I cannot speak to a “seamless transition.” But, there is one thing I know for a fact, because I have been around these kids and program for three years  is that hey will train hard and compete hard!"

Holy Trinity Academy hosts two meets during the regular season the Phillip Dummer Elite Classic as well as the Holy Trinity Invitational. Bailey says those meets will still take place in 2015, but the dates are still undetermined.
