Sprint Queen: Teahna Daniels Add US#1 60m To Go With US#1 55m Dash

First Academy senior and University of Texas signee already owns the fastest 55m time in the nation of 6.93s set at the Jimmy Carnes Indoor Meet. Saturday she added another US#1 to her accolades, sprinting past the field at the David Oliver Classic in North Carolina in a time of 7.39s. Daniels is the reigning 1A state champion in the 100 and 200m and one of the top sprinters in the country!

Meanwhile, on Friday night, Holy Trinity senior and William and Mary signee Andrew Cacciatore competed in the boys 3200m run. The 1A Cross Country Finals runner-up and third place finisher at last year's state meet in the same event, was fifth in a time of 9:41.55. After competing last month in the Jimmy Carnes Indoor Meet, Cacciatore thought the meet would serve as another tune-up to the outdoor season.

"I thought it would be a good chance to get another race in before outdoor officially started. There was a lot of competition especially with Andrew Hunter (VA) in the field. I was running really well for the first mile and a half, but with a half mile to go I just had nothing left. I had gotten a head cold earlier in the week and was still pretty congested at the race. Before outdoor starts I want to keep up my mileage and just keep pushing myself like I always do."
