Staged at the Westfield Country Club in Bithlo, 17 schools (in all or in part) divided up into an East-West competition that was a warm-up of the State Championship series. Not surprisingly, the winners were:
Rafaella Gibbons (18:58) led her Winter Park team to a 17 point near shutout in the Girls East.
Megan Hannah's 19:02 win failed to derail Dr. Phillips' depth, and the latter took the team championship in a three point nail-biter over Hannah's West Orange, 29-32 in the Girls West.
Timothy Doyle (16:45) and Johns Volmar (16:51) raced in tandem to lead Freedom to the Boys East, en route to a 38-43 win over perennial powerhouse Winter Park.
Jean D'Haiti (16:16) "drove away" in the victory car, while his Dr. Phillips team "drafted" to a 35-40 team championship over Olympia in the Boys West.
