WATCH Teahna Daniels throw down All-Conditions US #1 11.15 100m versus the pros

Teahna Daniels (First Academy, FL) raced an All-Conditions US #1 time of 11.15 in the 100 meter dash this weekend at the PURE Athletics Elite Meet in Clermont, Florida.

As the lone high school entrant amongst the Elite section's professional field, Daniels ran her 11.15 time (2.4w) in the prelims and entered the finals as the fourth-fastest qualifier. In the finals, she ran 11.21 (3.9w) to finish sixth overall as Dafne Schippers of Denmark won in 10.90.

The 11.15 time marks a new personal record for the New Balance Nationals Indoor 60m dash champion, whose previous all-conditions best was 11.42.

"I feel great about my performance," Daniels said. "I was confident going into the race even though I was competing with pro's, I didn't let that get to me. I'm a little disappointed about the wind but it was only 2.4 so I'm not too mad about it."

But the University of Texas commit, ranked US #4 this year based on FAT/wind legal marks, is ready to go even faster. Her previous all-conditions best was 11.42.

"I know I can run so much faster than that," she said. "I honestly think if I trust my training and stay healthy, I can go 11.0 with a legal wind. Maybe even 10.9, God willing."

Daniels will compete in her regional meet this Thursday.
