Just because Florida doesn't have an indoor track season, that doesn't mean our athletes are watching  Hallmark Channel holiday movies and sipping on milk and cookies this winter break. For Melbourne Central Catholic's Amanda Beech, it meant getting a little work in while on a trip to Maine. The junior, who was 7th at the 2A Cross Country Finals, competed at the USM Relays in Gorham Maine on Saturday. She lead a majority of the mile before being out kicked by Gorham sophomore Anna Slager, crossing the line in a new PR of 5:18.38. Beach ran 5:21.05 at last year's Golden South Classic and has a 1,600m PR of 5:15.29 where she was 5th at the regional meet and just missed a spot to the state finals.
