New Balance professional Trayvon Bromell, one of the best young sprinters in the country, ran the Golden South Classic three times in his high school career. As a freshman Bromell was third in the prep division and came back to compete as a junior and senior. In 2012, he was third in the 100 (10.47) and fourth in the 200 (21.46). The following season he beat the field in 10.27s! We caught up with Trayvon to talk about his memories of the Golden South Classic and it's springboard to future success.

Flrunners.com: What do you remember most about running at Golden South?

Trayvon Bromell: What I remembered most about Golden South was the excitement of the crowd. Being around a lot of people who love the sport coming together and witnessing some of the greatest performances around.

FLR: How did it kind of set the stage for what was yet to come? The following week you ran 9.99w to win Great Southwest, then were New Balance Nationals champion in the 100, and finished first at the USATF Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

TB: Golden south set me up for a lot of bigger meets since it was such a fast track meet. The meet always had the best of the best. So when you go to this meet you know you're going to see fast time and big marks.

FLR: What advice would u give to those running this weekend?

TB: Stay focused, stay hungry, and leave it all out on the track.

FLR: Switching gears a little you recently ran a street race in Manchester, England. What was that like and what's up next on your calendar?

TB: It was great. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Next up, I will run in Rome, Birmingham, and Oslo.

FLR: Lastly, What would it mean for you to make the Olympic team and go to Rio?

TB: Making an Olympic team would be great and one goal off my list.
