Salute To Seniors: Nicole Breske - Winter Park High School

The 2015-2016 school year has provided some great highlights in both cross country and track across the Sunshine State. In the coming weeks many of our seniors will head out to start their college careers both athletically and academically. We wanted to salute them one more time in this special feature and say thank you for your support over the years.

Flrunners.com: What was your most memorable race/moment?:

Nicole Breske: My most memorable moment was winning state with a PR.

FLR: What would you consider your biggest competition over your four years?

NB:  The 2016 State Championship which had three girls over 12'0 fighting for the title.

FLR: What was your greatest accomplishment?

NB: Having an undefeated senior season with the state title.

FLR: If you could do it all over again what would you change about your running career in high school?

NB:  I would have started pole vault earlier.

FLR: What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?

NB: Losing state my junior year when I was the favorite

FLR: What will you miss the most?

NB: The experience of competing with all of the vaulters I knew from different schools.

FLR: What advice you would give to younger athletes?

NB: Be humble about your accomplishments and continue to put in that extra work that others aren't willing to put in and it will make all the difference in who succeeds.

FLR: What influence has your coach had with respect to your performance and overall life goals?

NB: My club coach, Bill Cashman, has made my performance what it is. Without his professional training and the detail that he puts in my training has made me a state champion and a soon to be division one athlete.

FLR: What are your college plans?

NB: I will be attending Florida State University to become a part of their track team.

FLR: Who would you like to say thank you to?

NB: I'd like to say thanks to Bill Cashman, my club coach and Mark Rose, my hurdles/ jumps coach.

FLR: Is there anything else you'd like to add?

NB: Two years ago I was a 7'6 jumper and now I jump 12'6 and am continuing to improve with the help of my club training and early morning workouts.
