Salute To Seniors: Jason Nodjomian - Niceville High School

The 2015-2016 school year has provided some great highlights in both cross country and track across the Sunshine State. In the coming weeks many of our seniors will head out to start their college careers both athletically and academically. We wanted to salute them one more time in this special feature and say thank you for your support over the years.

Flrunners.com: What was your most memorable race/moment?

Jason Nodjomian: My most memorable race was the 2016 state track meet where my team's 4x8 finished 6th, earning a medal.

FLR: Who would you consider your biggest competition over your four years?

JN: My biggest competition over my four years was always my teammates. We had one of the tightest 1-5 splits in the state of Florida at the cross country state meet this past year. We were always pushing each other in every practice.

FLR: What was your greatest accomplishment?

JN: My greatest accomplishment was winning the district 4x8 title with 3 of my best friends this past track season. We all ran our best races of the season and had a great time doing it.

FLR: If you could do it all over again what would you change about your running career in high school?

JN: If I started high school over, I would have put more effort into training my freshman and sophomore year.

FLR: What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?

JN: The biggest obstacle I had to overcome was balancing running with academics and other extracurricular activities. There's a lot of pressure on high school student-athletes to juggle those things.

FLR: What will you miss the most?

JN: I will miss my teammates the most. They gave me a second family for four years, and I am grateful for that.

FLR: What advice you would give to younger athletes?

JN: I would advise younger athletes to value their time in high school. It really does go by quicker than you think.

FLR: What influence has your coach had with respect to your performance and overall life goals?

JN: I have been luck enough to have a variety of coaches over the years, but my coach that I had for the past two and a half years had the biggest impact on my life. Coach LaFollette has always been able to inspire me to achieve great things, not only in running, but throughout life. Also, he provided me the training and advice to achieve those things.

FLR: What are your college plans?

JN: Next fall, I will be attending the University of Florida, where I will be studying applied physiology and kinesiology and join the running club. Go Gators!

FLR: Who would you like to say thank you to?

JN: I would like to thank my family, my team, and my coaches for the never-ending support.

FLR: Is there anything else you'd like to add?

JN: It has been an honor competing for my school, and I will treasure the memories I have made forever.
