Osceola Girls Defend 3A District 10 Title, East Lake Sweep Boys Ind/Team Trophies

The 3A District 10 meet was held on a cool morning at Eagle Lake Park in Largo, where runners battled to claim their spots at the 3A Region 3 meet in Estero next week. Osceola's girls took home the title, for the second year in a row, and East Lake's boys won their first district title in school history.

East Lake's Jen Lima established herself in the lead within the first mile, putting a wide gap on the rest of the field. The Eagle's senior won in 18:35, in her final district championship.


Stone finished as runner up in 18:45, followed by Valby in 19:08, huge PRs for both of the freshmen.



Osceola took the championship with Taylor Stone leading her team, followed by Olivia Dorsky in 7th, Sammi Corsini in 10th, and Meghan Gregoire in 12th respectively. The Warriors exacted revenge after taking second to Clearwater by one point at the Pinellas County Championships 2 weeks ago.



Clearwater's girls were runner's up with 59 points. The Tornadoes secured their second place finish with Brenna DeLong in 4th, Jordyn Avers in 6th, and Mariah Zupan in 8th respectively.

Other regional qualifiers include East Lake (89 points), Venice (90 points), and Palmetto Senior High School (140 points).



The gun went off for the boy's race at 9:30. A pack of 8 boys led the race on the first mile and half, but it dwindled down to three in the second half of the race. On the last grass stretch, East Lake's James Hassell outpaced the others to finish first in 16:40. Michael Randolph followed in 2nd (16:51) and narrowly beat Christian Condor in 3rd (16:51), making for an epic finish. 



East Lake's boys took the championship with 43 points. Hassell led the Eagles with his first place finish. He was followed by Michael Welborn in 6th, Rohan Kohli in 7th, and Matthew Wyers in 11th respectively.



Osceola's boys finished as runners up with 75 points. Trevor Coreya led the Warriors with his 4
th place finish, followed by Kevin Cochran in 10th respectively.

Other regional qualifiers include Northeast (91 points), Venice (107 points) and Clearwater (139 points).
