Wharton Trio Signs College Scholarships

Three of Wharton High School's top track and field athletes made their college decisions this week. Sprinter Searra Woods chose FAU, distance standout Rania Samhouri picked nearby USF, and mid-distance athlete Bryanna Rivers will head to the northeast U.S. and run for UMASS. Wildcats Coach Anthony Triana talks to us about their decisions and what they've meant for his program.

"Searra Woods is one of our toughest and fearless runners we have ever had. She is the school record holder in the 400m and is someone who has blossomed every year since her freshman year. FAU was a place where she felt comfortable with the coaches and really loved her visit."

"Rania Samhouri is a hard working runner who is also a great leader. One of the best captains any team can have and one of the most coachable athletes that every coach prays for. She has left a huge impact on our distance program by not only her talent but her personality and leadership. She chose USF to stay close to home and loves everything about the program and school as she has 2 sisters who already attend USF as students."
