FLR 10: Saturday HS Races Full, Seed Sheet Announced

NOTES

If you find any errors, ommissions, or have any questions about the entries below please let me know.  These are accurate based on the entries as of September 21, 2009.

The individuals listed as entered in the Invitational or ROC may in some cases choose to run with their team in their team's designated race.  They are invited to particpate individually and in most cases will accept the invitation.  This is completely at the discretion of the coach.

When is the entry deadline?

You must enter by Sunday, September 27, 2009.  That is also the LAST DAY to change your rosters.  No exceptions!  We have a lot of team packets to make up and we have to get started on Monday.  Click here to enter or edit your existing entry.

So you're full on Saturday?

Yes, we are completely full for high school teams on Saturday.  In fact, we are over-booked... so if I can convince anyone to move to Friday that would be wonderful!  We still have plenty of room on Friday, for middle school teams, for college teams, or for any individuals.

How were these teams seeded?

The varsity teams below were seeded based on the entries as of September 21, 2009. High school teams request which day they want to race on. And then based on meet results, coach insights, and other information we seed the team into the appropriate race.

What about JV? Why aren't they listed?

There is a JV race on both days. So for the schools bringing a JV team, they will typically race their JV team in the JV race on that same day as their varsity.

Are you assigning boxes? Are the numbers below box numbers?

No. We do not assign boxes. We of course do enforce one team per box and boxes will be drawn, but it is our tradition to leave the boxes first come, first serve. There is one exception to this... our JV races are too large and have too many teams to have boxes. We line up our JV races like a road race.

Do I need to enter all of my athletes or just varsity?

Any athlete who is going to run needs to be entered. Each will get a chip and a bib number. No one will be allowed to run without them. No bandits.

So you're doing chip timing this year?

Yes, IPICO has stepped in to sponsor our chip timing system and crew this year. Steeple Timing will be back this year to head up the timing and results, but Dusty Smith of Half Mile Timing and a technician from IPICO will also be there to help with the chip system.

We do have one major change from the first announcement. Due to a chip shortage, there will be no souvenir chips. We will need to collect the chips after the finish line.

We will have 1 and 2 mile splits recorded as well. These WILL be available and published after the meet for all runners! If all goes as planned, we will also have LIVE team scores and splits of the leaders announced at every mile mark.

Coaches, please help us out by a) making sure you give each athlete their correct chip b) making sure that no athlete walks off a chip.
