2002 Florida Relays Photos from Saturday Afternoon Races

Florida Relays Photos by Jason Byrne...
Pictures I took from Saturday afternooon. They are not the best quality. Site/Network funds permitting, I will buy a higher quality digital camera in the coming months. I appologize for the lack of action shots, but frankly they came out pretty blurry and amateurish.

Andy Biladeau gets psyched up before the start of the 2-Mile. Elly Kabbord and Jessica Hellender stretch before their 2-Mile dual. Three Cookerly sisters were at Florida Relays this weekend--Charley and Shea in the HS Invitational 2-Mile and Carling a current Florida Gator. Charley awaits the start of the race; she will attend UF next year with her big sis. Distance starlet Courtney Bailey of Cocoa Beach.
Anchor legs head down to the boys 4x4 start line. Girls 4x400 Relay. Miami Central's boys took the easy win with a state best 4x100 time. Final handoff of girls 4x100m Race.
Here's a horribly blurry and distant pic of the Boy's Mile. Here's another horrible pic of the Girl's Mile! UF's men nearly set a meet record in this 4x800 race. College Womens 4x800.
Sebring High School alum, Julia Miller, running DMR 800 leg for Troy State. Hey this site started as a Sebring HS web site, gotta give props to my former teammate!! Go Sebring! Paul Cross came over to introduce himself, so I took his picture! He's a beast in the 800! Jamaal Torrance lead the way for Evans and their awesome 4x400 team. Sammy Vazquez stretches out after his outstanding double.

Pictures submitted to me...
Notice how much better these are than mine! It's pretty distrubing!!

Elly Kabbord and Jessica Hellender battle it out in the 2 mile. After the mile mark, Jessica Hellender pulled away from her opponents on her way to victory in the 2. Back in the Invitational Boys Mile lead by Burris, followed by Vazquez, Hassen, and Steier. Sammy Vazquez raises his arms up as he crosses the finish line for the victory.
