Holy Trinity All-Star Showdown: Charlotte Cruises, BK Misses Record

The Holy Trinity All-Star Showdown has become a nice low-key post-season tradition that gives athletes another chance to run fast times without any pressure. There were some great performances in all events, as well as the always fun milk mile, but the most anticipated race of the night was the Boys 4x800 where Charlotte went after a new best time and Bishop Kenny got a second chance of their school record after the disappointing events at the state meet.

While Charlotte did not break the exclusive 7:40 barrier, they did better their own state best and US #3 time in running a 7:44.25.  They are #4 all-time in the state of Florida.

Bishop Kenny gave the school record their best shot, though still racing without Michael Wallace who continues to suffer from some medical issues.  The team came up short with a 7:56.52, but gave it a very good run stacking their legs fastest-to-slowest in a valiant attempt to set themselves up for the record of 7:51.18.  While they did not get there, they can at least rest easy knowing they got the shot at it that they were deprived of at the state meet.

Other top performances:

  • Sarah Davis (BK) 2:13.79 800m
  • Katelyn Greenleaf (Northside Christian) over Chelsi Woodruff (Trinity Prep) 5:10.27 to 5:10.44
  • Shelby Hayes (Winter Park) 10:44.12 3200m
  • Terrell Bryant (Godby) 1:57.95 800m
  • Novian Middleton (Dr. Phillips) 4:18.06 1600m
  • William Rorke over teammate Mac Reynolds (Nease) 10:02 to 10:04
  • Brian Atkinson (Melbourne) 15:27.40 5000m
