Warrior of the Week Returns This Fall
WARRIOR RUNNING CAMPS and FLRUNNERS.COM are pleased to announce that the Warrior of the Week series will return this fall and beyond.
Rick Moody of Warrior Running Camps and Jason Byrne of flrunners.com came to terms this week on a three year sponsorship deal of the series. Last spring we introduced the weekly award honoring excellence and dedication in the sport, giving the honor and a feature story to a top male and female athlete every week during track season. We will continue that tradition through the cross country season (September-November) and track & field season (March-May) at least through the spring of 2014.
We are very pleased that Warrior has chosen to support this site, help us to honor our fine athletes, and present this weekly award that really captures the spirit of their camps. In each week's feature story, we focus on what makes the athlete special: the obsticles they've overcome, the intense dedication, what they mean for their team, and celebrating the joy of their successes with them. This award is meant to recognize those athletes who have trained hard and striven for excellence. We will, of course, look at the athletes with the best times and marks... but also those who show the spirit what it means to be a "warrior".
Each athlete can only win the award once per season, which will be announced each Tuesday. That gives a total of 13 guys and 13 girls the opportunity to be honored from next week through the end of November. From those weekly winners, we will choose five guys and five girls as finalists for "Warrior of the Year". We will put that up to your vote on our flrunners.com Facebook page.
Good luck to everyone this cross country season!
