1A Girls Rankings

By: Nathan Means, Mount Dora Bible School, nathan.means@chbs.org

Team Rankings:

Commentary: Oak Hall is really starting to establish itself as the leader.  Holy Trinity needs to close up their split.  Providence seems to be sliding back a little, Van Liere did not run (or finish?) their last meet.  Not a lot of movement otherwise.  Northside and Trinity Prep may be closer than they appear; Pre-State's Friday night race was very warm.  A couple of new entries move in as Keswick and St. John's Country Day start pulling it together.

  Team Name, Region (Prev.)  Comments:
1. Oak Hall School, R1 (2) 19:22 average at Pre-State Elite race
2. Holy Trinity Academy, R3 (1) 19:44 average at Holy Trinity
3. Providence School, R1 (3) 20:35 average at Ponte Vedra
4. Maclay School, R1 (4) 20:33 average at FSU (not seeing any results since then)
5. Northside Christian, R3 (6) 20:38 average at Pre-State Elite race
6. Trinity Prep, R2 (5) 21:09 averate at Pre-State Friday race
7. Community School of Naples, R3 (8) 21:02 average at Pre-State Invitational race
8. Lakeland Christian, R3 (7) 21:12 average at Pre-State Invitational race (identical to their flrunners average!)
9. Westminster Academy, R4 (9) 21:36 average at Westminster Invitational
10. Keswick Christian, R3 (NR) 21:24 average at Pre-State Invitational race
11. Shorecrest Prep, R3 (12) 21:46 average at Disney
12. Pope John Paul II, R4 (11) 21:54 average at flrunners 12 Invitational race
13. St. John's Country Day, R1 (NR) 21:58 average at Keystone Heights
14. Circle Christian, R2 (14) 22:58 average at Pre-State Friday race (without Bryce Seymour)
15. Seffner Christian, R2 (10) 22:32 average at Pre-State Invitational race

Individual Rankings:

Commentary: This is a tough call at the top.  Wollrath ran on the blazing fast Holy Trinity course, while Candiano and Seymour ran the Pre-State course, which isn't quite as fast (but still fast).  Their top times also still date back to flrunners.  In the mean time, the rest are just jockeying for position, with only two new entries into the ranks.  Notable is that all 25 are under the 20:00 mark now.

2A Girls Rankings

By: Gerry Spring, Lake Highland Prep, gspring@lhps.org

Team Rankings:

Commentary:  Pre State helped answer some questions but still has not fully settled all. Cocoa Beach running at HTA kept all the contenders from being head to head but nobody said this job was going to be easy! Head to head competition moved a number of teams up. 3A Girls Rankings

By: Andy Holmes, Seffner Christian Academy, aholmes@scacrusaders.com

Team Rankings:

Commentary: Another shake-up in this week's rankings! We finally got to see Chiles, Estero, and Lakewood Ranch race each other, and Estero comes away with a resounding victory. As expected, excellent competition and cool weather led to fast times at Pre-State, especially in the Girls Elite race. We now look ahead to championship week, as we are but 2 weeks away from Districts.

  Team Name, Region (Prev.)  Comments:
1. Estero, 3 (2) 18:42; Put 6 in front of Chiles #4 runner to somewhat easily take title at Pre-State Elite
2. Chiles, 1 (1) 18:44; Big gap between #3 and #4 runners hard to overcome, but still take home Runner-up in Elite race
3. Lakewood Ranch, 3 (3) 19:36; Could have placed higher, but Devin McDermott does not race, so team finishes 9th behind 4A power Lourdes
4. Creekside, 1 (4) 20:14; Travel out of state to Nike Fleet Feet Invite and win race in championship division
5. St. Cloud, 2 (7) 20:00; 10th at Pre-State Elite, still moving up in the rankings each week
6. Fort Walton Beach, 1 (5) 20:36; Week off from racing, but place 4th at Disney, just behind St. Cloud

8. Gulf Coast, 3 (9) 20:16; Jump up a spot in the rankings with 14th place finish at Pre-State Elite
9. Fort Myers, 3 (8) 20:51; Team runs in Invitational division at Pre-State, and places 2nd, without Rachel Petrik, who races in Elite race
10. Wiregrass Ranch, 2 (11) 20:19; Pre-State host has good showing against Elite competition and places 16th
11. Merritt Island, 2 (NR) 21:33; Team does not race this weekend, but takes 9th at Disney in 3A race
12. Nease, 1 (13) 20:38; Team time continues to drop with top 20 team showing at Pre-State Elite
13. Bartram Trail, 1 (12) 20:46; Strong pack of 2-5 runners after Ingoldsby helps team at Pre-State
14. Northeast, 2 (NR) 21:43; Team races at Pre-State Friday in warmer conditions and places 5th
15. Melbourne, 2 (NR) 21:08; Just 1 point behind Northeast at Friday Pre-State race

Watch List (in no particular order): Osceola, Stanton Prep, Naples, Vanguard, King, Choctawhatchee, Matanzas, Charlotte, Ridgeview, Ida S. Baker, Steinbrenner, Lemon Bay, Lake Region

Individual Rankings:

Commentary: The top 3 finishers at Pre-State Elite were from the top 3 schools in 3A. What an exciting race it was that produced some of the fastest times this year, as 5 girls went under 18 minutes, and 20 went under 19 minutes.

1. Olivia Ortiz, 11 Lakewood Ranch (2) 17:41; Takes over top spot with surge up the hill at Pre-State to defeat Williams

4A Girls Rankings

By: Ryan Raposo, John A. Ferguson HS - rraposo@dadeschools.net

Team Rankings:

Commentary: With Pre-State over with, it's easy to see just how tight all of the 4A girls team are to one another and how having a sub-par racing day could easily drop a handful of spots. As teams start to wind down into their county / city / conference championship season, I don't think there will be much of a shake-up in these rankings with exception to the battle for the 6th spot in Region 1. There are four very strong teams between 9th and 10th this week just because of how close they all are! Keep fighting it out, ladies!

  Team Name, Region (Prev.)  Comments:
1. St. Thomas Aquinas, 3 (7) 19:18 Team Avg, 3rd @ Pre-State Elite; Don't let the previous ranking fool you, these girls ran a tremendous race from beginning to end and they truly dominated. Look at them to be the favorite for the 4A Championship this season. (Keep in mind that their  #1 runner from the beginning of the season, Kalis, still hasn't come back yet.)
T-2. Plant, 2 (T-1) 19:24 Team Avg, 4th @ Pre-State Elite; Although Coach Harrison felt they were a little flat, the depth of Plant has shown to definitely be the strongest in the state with eight girls sub-20 and all of them in my top 50 in the individual rankings. Once they put together a solid performance, they'll be unstoppable.
T-2. Ferguson, 4 (T-1) 19:24 Team Avg, 5th @ Pre-State Elite; After basking in the glory of being ranked #1 for the first time ever, the Falcons put together a decent team performance at Pre-State, but got beat by two much stronger teams. Depth doesn't mean a heck of a lot if the back-half of varsity doesn't push up with that top half.
4. Lourdes Academy, 4 (8) 19:46 Team Avg, 8th @ Pre-State Elite; Missing 2 of their top 5 runners; Please let no one be confused that Lourdes was ranked 8th a couple of weeks ago. These girls have been nursing a few injuries and are working their way back up, and fast! Don't expect them to be full strength for a couple more weeks, just know they're coming!
5. Olympia, 1 (T-5) 19:36 Team Avg, 13th @ Pre-State Elite; 19:40, 1st @ Hagerty; The Titans has a hiccup at the Pre-State meet running a little slower than I expected them to. Overall their team ranking didn't suffer which really means they have a shot a big things if they put together a big race. Right now they edge over DP because of their 2-7 runners are slightly faster.
6. Dr. Phillips, 1 (T-5) 19:27 Team Avg, 1st @ Holy Trinity; Winning strong at HT, Dr. Phillips is getting stronger each week. Although they are very comparable to Olympia, Blake gives them a larger team average skew and comparing runner to runner is slightly not in their favor. But don't be mistaken, this is a top five caliber team right here!
7. Hagerty, 1 (3) 19:36 Team Avg, 7th @ Pre-State Elite; 20:01, 2nd @ Hagerty; Although the Huskies have the computer edge over DP and Olympia, and I'm confident they'll be just as strong in smaller meets, I feel that the stagger becomes just a little too big in some larger 20+ team meets. Only time will tell how all of Region 1 plays out.
8. Spruce Creek, 1 (4) 20:18 Team Avg, 1st @ Terrier Invite; The Hawks definitely don't deserve to be dropped a few spots in the rankings after winning an invitational, but man, this is season is getting tougher and tougher by the week. In order to stay top five this year, you're going to have to keep dropping time each week!
T-9. Boone, 1 (NR) 20:25 Team Avg, 3rd @ Hagerty
T-9. Lake Mary, 1 (9) 20:19 Team Avg, 4th @ Holy Trinity; 20:39, 4th @ Hagerty
T-10. Winter Park, 1 (NR) 20:30 Team Avg, 17th @ Pre-State; 20:46, 5th @ Hagerty
T-10. Mandarin, 1 (11) 20:25 Team Avg, 18th @ Pre-State
11. Sarasota Riverview, 2 (10) 20:48 Team Avg, 1st @ Pre-State Friday
12. Freedom (Tampa), 2 (13) 20:52 Team Avg, 1st @ Pre-State Invite
13. Seminole, 2 (NR) 20:59 Team Avg, 3rd @ Pre-State Invite
14. Bloomingdale, 2 (NR) 21:32 Team Avg, 11th @ Pre-State Invite
15. Wharton 2 (14) 21:45 Team Avg, 5th @ Terrier Invite
16. Cypress Bay, 3 (15) No major invitationals
17. Dwyer, 3 (16) 21:37 Team Avg, 13th @ Pre-State Invite
18. Jupiter, 3 (22) 22:07 Team Avg, 1st @ Southwest Invite
19. Park Vista, 3 (18) 22:26 Team Avg, 2nd @ Southwest Invite
20. Spanish River, 3 (19) 22:58 Team Avg, 3rd @ Southwest Invite
21. South Dade, 4 (20) 22:33 Team Avg, 2nd @ Varela Viper
22. Coral Reef, 4 (21) 23:25 Team Avg, 6th @ Varela Viper; Missing 1 of their top 2
23. Varela, 4 (23) 23:00 Team Avg, 5th @ Varela Viper
24. Sunset, 4 (24) 25:20 Team Avg, 14th @ Varela Viper; Missing 2 of their top 5

  Upcoming Teams:
  Oviedo, 1 (NR) 20:58 Team Avg, 6th @ Hagerty
  Newsome, 2 (NR) 21:25 Team Avg, 5th @ Pre-State Invite

  Slipped from Rankings:
  St. Petersburg, 2 (12) 21:49 Team Avg, 27th @ Pre-State Elite
  Palm Harbor University, 2 (17) 23:00 Team Avg, 7th @ Manasota Invite

Individual Rankings

Commentary: Once again we had a few shake-ups in our individual listing, primarily with the girls in the teens. Many new girls shot up the list and knocked out girls in the 40s and 50s, while the majority of the top 10 haven't fallen off too much. The most interesting part of this whole list is the depth of some of the top teams in the state; check out the Mock State Score at the bottom.

Commentary: So this week for the rankings I decided to start out "High Tech" and use all of the wonderful tools Jason has provided us.  I started by a regional analysis, then took the top 7 or 8 schools from each region depending on how close the scores were.  Next I took the 30 schools this gave me and ran a Mock State meet.  Then I did the same thing using average times instead of best times.  Needless to say I know more about 1A then I ever thought possible.  Here is my picture of the way things should shake out.  HT is still the team to beat and to me look unbeatable in 1A unless something happens on their end.  Trinity Prep and PK Yonge are in a tight fight for 2nd with in my opinion TP having the slightest of edges due to depth.  PK Yonge on paper is the better team by 3 points but if even one of their top 5 have a mistep TP will pounce.  Circle Christian seems to have 4th locked down, but the next 5 or 6 schools could finish in any order as they are only seperated by 60 points from 5th to 9th place.  The team making the biggest statement this last two weeks is Tampa Prep who must have had a fire lit after I removed them from the rankings and just jumped back into the top 10.  I can't wait to see how the teams make a final push for districts, though some of the schools at the top that have their Districts and Regionals locked up will probably train through, while some of the teams in the top 15 may be ranked at a large meet like State, but in a small regional meet will lose out.  Good Luck to you all. (note AVG is calculated on season best times, no feature yet to do the AVG of the AVG...ehem Jason)

  Team Name, Region (Prev.)  Comments:
1. Holy Trinity (R-3 #1) (1) 16:00 AVG they have lead from the get go, don't see them giving it away now
2 Trinity Prep (R-2 #1) (2) 16:28 AVG Clinging to the #2 spot thanks to great depth
2a P.K. Yonge School (R-2 #2 tie breaker) (3) 16:27 AVG but their # 6 is 2 minutes behind their #5 as close as they are to TP that will be their undoing
4 Circle Christian (R-2 #3) (4) 17:08 AVG the Fosters at the top of this team help keep them in the #4 position and their  3-5 only have a 30sec split
5 Tampa Prep (R-2 #4) (NR) 17:39 AVG jumped the rankings I am going out on a limb here and putting you ahead of Bishop Snyder due to AVG of AVG
6 Bishop John J. Snyder (R-1 #1) (11) 17:30 AVG with a 1-5 Split of 48 seconds and 1-7 split of just over 1min this pack mentality is what jumps them 5 spots
7 Maclay (R-1 #2) (5) 17:45 AVG they have been training more than racing, they are a team flying under the radar that will want that top 5 spot back
8 St John Neumann (R-3 #2) (7) 17:45 AVG the team did slip a notch but not because they didn't get better, just other teams made huge moves this week
9 Mount Dora Bible (R-2 #5) (8) 17:53 AVG the 1-5 split is way too much for a team trying to crack into the spots above.
10 First Academy (R-2 #6) (6) 18:02 AVG with a 1-7 split of just over 1 min they will move up as a team easily and may take out more than 1 of the top 10 teams
11 Pensacola Christian (R-1 #3) (10) 18:02 AVG last week I said they needed help and the team answered the top 5 are under 18:30 and #6 & #7 are 18:31 and 18:36
12 Community School of Naples (R-3 #3) (15) 17:54 AVG making huge strides in a tough region will give them a boost up the rankings but a 2 1/2 min 1-5 split will hurt in the end
13 Seffner Christian Academy (R-2 #7) (13) 18:09 AVG gotta be top 6 at regionals to make the big show
14 McKeel Academy (R-3 #4) (9) 18:16 AVG making improvements as a team decent 1-5 split but hasn't improved as much as many of the teams that passed them
15 Keswick Christian (R-3 #5) (NR) 18:14 AVG moving back into the top 15 this week and I have a feeling Westminster and St. Stephens want their spot back

Previously Ranked teams:   Westminster Academy R-4 #1 (12) and St. Stephens Episcopal R-3 #5 (14)

Individual Rankings:

Commentary: There is very little change in the 1 A rankings for individuals.  Daniel Moore still has his strangle hold on the top spot.  Westlake, Gousse, Salas, and Mutz can flip flop on any day or course.  HT, TP, and PKY hold most of the spots on the top 27. Had to expand to top 27 I couldn't leave off the 4 and 5 of TP who are so close to top 25 and times were not comparable due to the night race vs the evening race of Pre-State.  The top 27 has moved around a bit but with only 3 NR runners joining the club its a 5 man race for 2nd place and any of the top 27 could easily make the podium given the right race.

2A Boys Rankings

By: Mike Becker, Ransom Everglades, mbecker@ransomeverglades.org

Team Rankings:

Commentary: Ok… we are midway.. Lots has changed in the middle of the pack.. But not at top.  Ransom gets a nose ahead of Kenny this week after a 16:26 average on the fast Pre state course. At first glance a decisive victory over Kenny,  but Kenny did not run some of their top 5.  I still say that you will need a crow bar to separate these two teams at state.  Immokalee did not race this week, and did not get those "fast times" but they appear to still be in top 5.  But separating Immokalee, Robinson  and  Nature Coast very difficult as there have been few head to heads. With these teams, and with Berkeley and Cocoa Beach moving up,  these teams appear to round out the top 7.  Bolles moving up rapidly as well. Pensacola holding steady. After that there is a small drop off at least for now.   Jesuit likely to peak late, Eastside looking like they will be in the top 10.  Lake Nona in the mix too.  Still waiting for Lincoln Park... maybe Marianna?  And I am sure there is a team  waiting to "PROVE ME WRONG"

  Team Name (Prev.)  Comments:
1. Ransom Everglades (1A) Back and forth with Kenny continues, Ransom has this week's edge after strong showing at Prestate but they have  a 80 second gap to their 5th runner
2. Bishop Kenny (1B) Bishop Kenny rests ( does not run?) some of their top 5 at prestate  I still say they are inseparable from Ransom if both teams healthy.
3. Berkeley Prep (3) This team has run well in big meets and improving each week…. 5th man is only 10 seconds from Ransom's fifth and not from Kenny's either
4. Cocoa Beach (4) Moving up every week.  Will they up more?
5. Immokalee (5) Hard to drop a team when they rest a week… don’t compare them to times at pre state but Cocoa and Berkeley did run well
6. Nature Coast (6) Call me crazy... but a pack like that is hard to come by, and they have been consistent…
7. Robinson (7) Also moving up week by week
8. Bolles  (8) Times for Bolles improving dramatically
9. Pensacola Catholic (9) Fifth man over 18:00…. still otherwise would be lower
10. Lake Nona (10) Similar to Pensacola Catholic
11. Eastside (NR) Looking for first state birth…. they have been solid
12. Jesuit (NR) I still think these guys will be a lot higher than this
13. West Florida Tech (NR) Two sub 17:00 runners… if the gap improves then so does their standing
14. Lincoln Park (NR) Call me crazy but I think they will be in top 10 when all said and done
15. Astronaut (NR) 4 under 18:00  but no 5th in sight

Individual Rankings:

Commentary: Separating 1 and 2 difficult… Gazari and Irigoyen have not met, and neither has lost to a AA runner except for Mountain Dew which I threw out as ridiculous ( 500 runners) and Déjà Vu ( where Irigoyen did not appear in results).  But I guess three invitational wins for Azari looks better for now.  Separating 3 through 7 even harder to do, as all five of those guys were at prestate within 6 seconds of each other!!!  I keep getting told that Hodge is a challenger for this group, but he hasn't run a big race (YET).  It also looks like Stanley Linton ready to challenge group as he wind Dolphin Dash by over 40 seconds.  Depth improving as now over 50  guys under 17:00.  That being said, the fast courses ( Pre state and FLRunners) have now all been run on.... time for real cross country

Athlete Name – Team (Prev.)  Time, Comments:
1. Argishti Gazari - Anclote (1) Looks like he and Irigoyen will not match up until the whole enchilada is up for grabs.. Teammate ran Pre state but not he?
2. Bert Irigoyen -  Ransom Everglades (2) Has been top AA runner in last two big meets but has not meet Gazari - I still say a sleeping giant is lurking
3. Nicholas Palermo- North Broward Prep (3) Speaking of sleeping giants…. Looks like Palermo is back in mix after sub 16:00 effort at pre state
4. Brian Sharp - Robinson (4) Within a whsiper of Irigoyen and Palmero at Pre state…. Has been within smelling  distance of Gazari earlier
5. Billy Scola - Ransom Everglades (5) 16:02 at pre state- ok now maybe there are 5 legitimate state contenders… because Scola was neck and neck with Sharp and Palermo
6. Alex Main - Berkeley Prep (6) Make it 6 legitimate contenders as Alex Main is always neck and neck with Scola
7. Patrick Maher - Bishop Kenny   Here's a 30 second p.r.. and within just  a few seconds of Palermo
8. Stanley Linton - Wakulla (8) Wins Dolphin Dash by a ton….. That course appears slow.
9. Dillon Hodge - Menendez (9) He could be a lot higher than this … running big meet this week
10. Jean Deceus - Immokalee (10) 16:33 at Fl Runners still best time
11. Shaun Majumdar- Berkeley Prep (NR) Big race at pre state 16:16
12. Jims Thimogene - American Heritage  (NR) 16:19 at pre state
13. Don Kerrigan - Pensacola Catholic (NR) 16:24 pre state
14. Michael Barr- Bishop Kenny (NR) p.r. ed at pre state 16:25
15. Alec Clarke -West Florida Tech (NR) 16:24 holds up
16. Matthew Harwood- Episcopal   16:26 holds up
17. Leonel De La Cruz- Immokalee   did not race but holds pr from Fl runners
18. Tim O'laughlin - Jesuit   16:40 from Land O Lakes holds up
19. Costa Thasis- Cocoa Beach   16:32 pre state
20 Chris Sorrick - Anclote   16:35 pre state
21. Taylor Hickey- Rockledge   16:37 from FL runers holds up
22. Eddie Bustamante - Ransom Everglades   16:34 frpm pre state

3A Boys Rankings

By: Carl Egbert, Barron Collier HS, carlegbert@yahoo.com

Team Rankings:

Commentary:  Belen Jesuit laid down the gauntlet at Pre States pushing 5 guys under 16:00. The only question mark is who will join them on the podium this year. Any of the teams in spots 2-10 can run their way into the runner up spot. Estero looked awesome on Saturday as did Naples and BTW. Fort Walton stayed away from Pre States but did beat Estero head to head at Disney in the rain. Anything can happen in the next month and we will see teams go backwards and we will see teams surge ahead. Lots of high level racing in the next few weeks with Conference and County meets looming.

  Team Name, Region (Prev.)  Comments:
1. Belen Jesuit - 4 (1) 5 under 16:00 and completely smoked the Elite field @ Pre State.
2. Fort Walton Beach - 1 (2) Good win @ Disney beating Estero head to head who was 4th in Elite field @ Pre States
3. Estero - 3 (3) Huge weekend @ Pre States finishing 4th in the Elite race
4. Booker T Washington - 1 (4) 6th @ Pre State with a 16:23 team average
5. Naples-3 (5) Monster day for the Golden Eagles with a 7th in Elite race @ Pre State with 16:26 team avg
6. Wiregrass Ranch-2 (6) 8th in Elite Race @ Pre State with 16:29 team avg
7. Fort Myers-3 (7) Coach Palmer had a good ride back to FM after team was 13th in Elite Race with 16:33 avg
8. Bartram Trail - 1 (8) Bartram slips a bit with modest showing at Pre State finishing 14th in Elite Race 16:34
9. Chiles - 1 (9) Finished 15th in Elite Race with 16:34 team avg right behind Bartram
10. George Steinbrenner-2 (10) 17th in Elite Race clocking a 16:41 team average
11. Leon - 1 (NR) 16:48 team avg at Pre State finishing 19th in Elite Race
12. Stanton Prep-1 (NR) IDLE
13. Chamberlin-2 (NR) 22nd in Elite race with 16:48 avg
14. Palmetto Ridge-3 (NR) 2 sub 15:45 guys make them a threat in a big meet format
15. Charlotte-3 (NR) 23rd in Elite race with 17:03 team avg

Individual Rankings:

Commentary: Lots of new faces on the Top 26 list this go around and lots of movement within the Top 10. Belen Jesuit places 5 guys on the list while Naples, Palmetto Ridge, Niceville , BTW and Steinbrenner place 2 apiece. With del Monte finding his form the individual battle should tighten up a bit. Elliot is still the clear front runner but Carlos knows he's close and if the pace dawdles you don't want to be near him. The next month should provide plenty of good racing and interesting story lines.

Athlete Name, Grade – Team (Prev.)  Time, Comments:
1. Elliot Clemente,12- Belen Jesuit (1) 15:54 win @ JR Orange Bowl and 15:02 @ PreState makes him the man
2. Carlos Miranda,11 - Palmetto Ridge (2) 15:17 @ Pre State means Carlos is here to play! Welcome to the deep end!

4. Mac Reynolds,12 - Nease 8 Kid is tough and not afraid to run up front. 15:22 @ Pre State
5. Thomas Howell,10 - Niceville 3 16:17 win @ SE Showdown. Still a top 5 contender.
6. Aaron Rojas,12 - Estero 5 16:03 win @ Disney and 15:37 @ PreState. Always in the mix and tough!
7. Avery Lopez,11 - Belen Jesuit 9 15:33 @ Pre State makes for a lethal 1-2 for Belen
8. Andrew Iglesias,10 - Pembroke Pines Ch NR Huge bomb by soph . 16:28 was best prior to this clocking
9. Quincey O'Connor - Celebration 4 Very consistent running 15:40 @ Pre State

4A Boys Rankings

By: Jorge Fleitas, Columbus HS - jfleitas@columbushs.com

Team Rankings:

  Team Name, Region (Prev.)  Comments:
1. Colonial (1) Colonial still sits in the #1 position placing 7 runners in front of Columbus's 5. They should still be the favorite holding on to the #1 spot for Nov 19.
2. Columbus (2) The Hellions have the look of a team destined for a 4th Title, but they are in need for each of them to step up big come Nov 19
3. HB Plant (4) Maybe HB Plant will surprise the state on Nov 19, it is looking like a distinct possibility with 5 guys under 16:39.
4. Winter Park (8) The Park showed they won't go gently into the night, with an impressive showing at Pre-State look for Anguish to lead his team to a top finish at the State meet.
5. St. Thomas (5)  There is no shame in losing to my No. 4-ranked team on the poll, and they actually were somewhat impressive in that loss…St Thomas should hold on to a top 5 finish!
6. Olympia (3) Olympia didn't seem to be able to put it all together at Pre-State, they are built to be a State contender and come November don’t look past them.
7. Spruce Creek (6) It’s really not fair to rank the Creek one spot down, but the Creek was a no show at Pre State and got an easy win at the Terrier Invitational.
8. Seminole (12) Seminole continues to prove they actually can be a top 5 team , but they need to start creating more seperation between themselves and the average teams.
9. Mandarin  (13) Tyler Mowery, and Michael Aitken are clearly the catalysts for this team, but one cannot overlook what the #3-5 pack provided at Pre-State.
10. Sunset (10) Sunset continue to fight hard in holding their 10th spot,  Pre State looked to be the tipping point edging them over Ferguson for good…but only time will tell.
