Tyreek Hill: A night for the ages

Tyreek Hill... there are just no words for the night he had at Golden South. Certainly he went into the race tonight looking like he was going to be a top contender. But coming in with a seed time of 20.9, but what he did was just stunning.

After running a blazing 20.49 and 10.19 in the prelims, he had to settle for a second place 10.41 in the 100 finals after Levonte Whitfield just edged him at the line. That performance though did earn him a Golden Ticket to the Dream 100 in New York.

But next... what he did next... that 20.14, wind legal, in the 200 meter finals was just ridiculous. The time was the ALL-TIME US #2 time for a high schooler... going all the way back to 1985 since it has been matched. That time made all the more amazing being that it was his fourth race in a long, hot day on the track. The perfect start. The perfect drive. The perfect race. Incredible!

After the race in an interview, he couldn't help but gleam when talking about what it means for him to represent his city in that way and then looking forward to his first trip ever to New York City. He ended with a message for Mavin Bracy and Levonte Whitfield: "I'm coming for you in New York!"
