Salute To Seniors: Marcus Blessing - Leesburg

What was your most memorable meet?

My most memorable meet would be the FSU Relays. It is probably where I faced the most competition as well.

Out of all of your high school accomplishments which stands out the most?

Going from 0 to 14ft in less than a year in the pole vault.

If you could do it all over again what would you change about your running career in high school?

I would have started earlier. I did not start track until my junior year.

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?

It was difficult having little to no experience and having to travel almost 100 miles to get good coaching.

What will you miss the most?

I will miss chilling with the Pole Vault City crew on the weekends after practice.

Do you have any advice for younger athletes?

Never stop trying and take good care of your body.

What are your college plans?

I've been accepted to the University of North Florida and plan to try to walk on to their track team for pole vault.

Who would you like to say thank you to?

I would like to say thank you to my coach Bobby Haeck for everything he has taught me thus far and my parents for paying the bills and supporting me in everything I do.
