Salute To Seniors: Alexandra Hill - Bishop Moore

What was your most memorable race?

The most memorable race this year was at the Florida Runners Invitational. I really enjoyed all the fun activities they offer and the course is the best and fastest.

Who would you consider your biggest competition?

Our biggest competition has always been Lake Highland. For years have always been just underneath them. This year we finally beat them and I think that was a great confidence booster for our team.

Out of all of your high school accomplishments, which stands out the most?

In high school I accomplished many things, but the one that stood out the most was being a part my cross country team which became more than a team and more like family. Those girls are awesome and I’m so glad that they also voted for me as a captain. That was a great honor and an accomplishment as well.

If you could do it all over again what would you change about your running career in high school?

If I could go back the only thing I would change is to run more during the summers to reach my fullest potential.

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?

The most difficult obstacle I had to overcome was my back injury when I fractured my spine. I really learned how to take the negatives in life and make them positive and to never stop believing in yourself. I could have given up, but I didn’t and I made a steady recovery.

What will you miss the most?

I will miss the teammates that turned into friends. I will miss the environment, but I am excited to enter a new one and become a successful person!

Do you have any advice for younger athletes?

I advise young athletes to never give up hope and always strive to be the best you can be. If you get knocked down just get back up.

What are your college plans?

My college plans include going to Flagler College in St. Augustine and I will be running cross country for them!

Who would you like to say thank you to?

I would like to say thank you to my parents, brother and coaches for shaping me to the person I am today. Also, to the friends that were always there for me. Without these people in my life I don’t think I would be ready for the next steps in my life.
