On Site Coverage

In the girls varsity race it was all St. Cloud junior Karissa Solorzano from beginning to end. Solorzano took off early and never looked back leading wire to wire and never being pushed. She crossed the line in 20:56.00 a minute off of her personal best. Solorzano finished second last year at OBC's. Poinciana senior Gabby Rodriguez was second in 21:22 with Kristin "the destryoyer" Detoyer rounding out the top three. Solorzano and Detoyer lead St. Cloud to the team title with 40 points. Osceola was second with 59 points with Liberty third tallying 66 points.

Liberty sophomore Rogelio Araiza finished seventh at the OBC last year as a freshman. His time 17:13.00. What a difference a year makes. Araiza trailed for eighty percent of the race, at one time by almost ten seconds. The sophomore, picked it up the last stretch of the race and caught St. Cloud senior Antonio Montavlo on the last half mile. He led from there out, finished in a strong sprint to seal the victory with a time thirty-one seconds better than a year ago, 16:44.00. Montalvo was second in 16:47. Osceola High School, home of the Kowboys, had the third place finisher in senior Frank Garcia. Liberty claimed the conference crown with 35 points. Osceola was second with 77 points and Celebration rounded out the top three with 92 points the same as St. Cloud.
