 The University of Tampa men’s and women’s cross country teams each earned a bid to the 2011 NCAA Division II Nationals as the women won the NCAA South Regional and the men placed second. Heather Nicolosi also set a new course record with her first-place finish in the women’s 6K. (via Tampa Spartans)

The two girls from Florida, Ashley Brasovan and Jessica Butler, won their respective heats tonight at the Nike Outdoor Nationals 5K. Butler won the first heat with nice closing speed to come from behind. Brasovan left no doubt in the 5K running all alone the entire race and basically lapping every girl in the field of the fast heat. She set a meet record of 16:18.53.
