Riverview sophomore Bailey Hertenstein's 1,600m race at the 4A state championship was simply INCREDIBLE, falling down and getting back up in the last lap to win. We've had several meets this week and are already seeing some very impressive pre-season performances. See which ones meet are elite, silver, and gold standards including Ransom Everglade's thrower Debbie Ajagbe who took first at a local quad meet with a new personal best 42'3 shot put (gold standard) and 130'9" launch of the discus (silver standard).
Osceola senior and University of Tennessee signee Domonique Turner placed fourth in a loaded 60mH final at the David Oliver Classic this past weekend in North Carolina. Her time of 8.66 was the fastest of any Floridian this short indoor season though. Maddie Fulmer of Fort Walton Beach added her name to the list in the distance events after competing in the mile and two mile at the Vanderbilt High School Invitational. The early signing period for track and field and cross country athletes was in November, but that hasn't stopped the states' best from committing to colleges. With the cross country season coming to an end we wanted to take a look at the top girls distance runners still on the board.
