I have always been a big dreamer. I have always been a seemingly impossible goal setter and I have always thought that being a person with high expectations would lead me into great success. Even when I was younger, I let my dreams run wild and told my mother I wanted to be a princess, a gymnast, and a veterinarian. How in the world I ended up as a distance runner wanting to major in Fashion Merchandising and become an Olympian, I'm not quite sure.

We all have a purpose. We all have dreams and desires and no matter how big or how they small they might seem, we all want something. Some people fall in love with football, dancing, or writing, but me, I fell in love running. Don't ask me why, but I just love what I do. Like most normal runners, I was definitely not amazingly gifted or talented. I was a tall, average built, dorky freshman who got roped into running cross country by her best friend.

I did almost all of my long summer runs here and the Mount Dora Bible course has to be one of the hardest in the state. It's hills are grueling and seem to be placed in the worst places. Knowing you have to do two loops of it for it to be a full 5K, is almost as mentally exhausting as it is physically. Thankfully, Saturday at the 39th Mount Dora Bible Invitational the weather was absolutely beautiful with the temperature at a comfortable 75 degrees for both the girls and boy's varsity as well as JV races.
