We all know that FSU put in a bid, but WHO ELSE HAS BID TO HOST THE STATE MEET?

Im hoping we have 3 or 4 sites that will bid to host before the deadline. Will Spanish River bid, someone in Tampa, or maybe Orlando????

Not sure why Tampa school doesn't put in a bid for it and run at Ed Radice Park like in the past! It could even be a night meet again!! Parking could be a issue, but there has been some big meets at that site!

Note to Andy Holmes go for it dude! You can make it happen!!

I have a feeling a future Hall of Fame Coach with a name that starts with "BO" and ends with "ZA" has the ability to host a big meet like State in Tampa..

    Go Mike!

Maybe he doesn't want to. It's a lot of work!

In my A.P. Psychology class we refer to this as "selective memory." Whatever you call it, it's easy to forget about all of the criticisms (many justified) we got when we hosted the State Meet at Ed Radice.

The real "genius" behind the state meets at Ed Radice was not me, it was Bobby Ennis. I was just part of his army of volunteers. All meets of this caliber take plenty of work but, with all respect to other hosts, I think it was especially challenging to make the Ed Radice site work and Bobby was the force and the brains that made it happen.

I have hosted a couple of big meets at Ed Radice since those days and it was good for nostalgia, but it also served as a useful reminder of the limitations of that site. Good times, though...
