Where: Chain of Lakes Park in Titusville, Florida (Course Map & Info)
Who: Everyone is welcome to participate! We have races for every calibur of high school team, as well as races for college/university teams, and middle school teams. Open individuals can enter in the college race.
High School Sanction: Astronaut High School will be the official FHSAA host team. We will be sanctioned through the FHSAA and NFHS for out of state teams. Sanctioned for Florida, Georgia, Alabama, New York, Maryland, and Texas.
Other Sanction: Our non-high school races will be sanctioned by the USATF.
Admission/Parking: $6 for each vehicle that is not a bus or officially-marked school van. No additional admission fee will be charged. Re-entry tickets are available.
T-Shirts: $15, available in white, blue, pink, and orange in a variety of sizes. While supplies last.
Meet Programs: High quality meet programs will be given away for free when you enter the meet.
Concessions: Food and beverage vendors will be on site.
Press Credentials: Please email your name, address, and publication to jason@flrunners.com to get a press pass. We will have a press area available with complimentary food, meet programs, and hopefully (fingers crossed) internet access.
Coach Hospitality Room: We will have a room available for coaches only with complimentary food, conversation, and air conditioning! This will be located in the back of the student union behind the awards stage.
Pasta Banquet: On Friday night (starting at 6pm) we will be hosting a pasta banquet at the course. The banquet will be served behind Student Union. Pick up your mean any time between 6 and 8PM. Dining is picnic style. If you have speaker tickets, you may eat in the gym. Dinner price alone is $8 or you can purchase a dinner + speakers package for $15. Speaker package should be pre-ordered, see below.
Olympic Guest Speakers: Following the pasta banquet, we will have special guest speakers Alan Webb, Jim Ryun and Keith Brantly. Webb holds the high school mile record and the American mile record. He is probably the most famous American runner of the current era. Ryun is a three-time Olympian and silver medalist and former world record holder in the 880, 1500, and Mile. Jim has had a long career as a Congressman from Kansas. Brantly was one of the most successful distance runners in American in the 80s and 90s and participated in the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games in the marathon. The guests will speak briefly and then they will be open to questions from the audience. We may have further guests announced later! Seating is limited and tickets should be purchased in advance as we will probably sell out. $15/ticket which includes the pasta banquet. Almost sold out! The few left will be sold at the meet, first come first serve.
