2013 Catholic Grade School Track Championships
Friday February 8th, 2013 at Bishop John Snyder High School
Times:
4:30 Clinic to demonstrate technique for events. Led by Snyder athletes and coaches.
5:00 Coaches meeting. Will take place at the tent behind the 100 meter start.
5:30 Field Events begin/4th grade and below Open 400 meter run.
Boys disc, then girls
Girls shot put, then boys
Girls and boys high jump will go off simultaneously.
Boys and girls long jump will take place simultaneously, boys will jump at the southeast pit, girls at the northeast pit, both on the visitor side.
6:30 running events begin, rolling schedule in the following order:
100 M
1600M
4 x 100 M
400 M
800 M
4 x 400 M
Format:
-Open to all 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade students attending Catholic Grade schools.
-There will not be separate divisions for each grade.
-Each school may enter only 3 boys and 3 girls from each grade in each event except for 800 and 1600. Unlimited entries for the 800 and 1600
-Only the first three (from each school) will score.
-All running events will be heats against time.
-All field events will be 3 attempts each.
-High jump opening heights - 3 -girls/ 4 - boys
-Each school may enter one relay team per event. Relay teams can be mixed grades.
-Athletes may compete in a maximum of 4 events, 3 running events max.
-For all running events girls will precede the boys.
-There will be a special 400 meter race for 4th grade and under at 5:30 PM when the meet begins. All participants will receive a t-shirt and participation ribbon.
Awards:
Team champion and runner-up trophies for boys and girls teams.
Ribbons for places one through eight.
All participants will receive a t-shirt.
Entries:
Deadline for entries will be Monday, Feb 4th at midnight. This year you will enter your athletes via www.flrunners.com. This is very easy to do, if you have any questions, please email me and I will help you out.
For the Open 400, you do not need to enter their names. They will show up and race.
Encourage your kids to come out! No prior experience is needed.
