Daytona was filled with speed on Friday and Saturday while many universities and high schools competed. Embry Riddle University held their annual Embry-Riddle Spikes Classic in Daytona Beach.

Less than 48 hours after running 1:47.79 for 800 meters, Andres Arroyo was back on the track, and back to posting blazing times. The Colonial senior's time for the half mile at the Florida Relays was a US#1, second fastest by any American this year, and 8th fastest in the world. That was Thursday. Saturday morning, Arroyo ran at the Embry Riddle Spikes Classic and posted a 9:01.34 for 3200 meters.
