MEET INFORMATION

WE WILL FOLLOW THE ORDER OF EVENTS LISTED ON THIS SITE. No implements will be weighed. All javelins, discus, & shots will be open to the field throughout the entire competition.

Admission:$5 per adult

Entry Fee: $75 per team $150 per school (boys & girls); Make all checks payable to CHCA. Make all checks payable to CHCA. Checks (or a copy of the purchase order for the meet fee) should be brought to the meet. Without such, athletes from the non-paying school may not be able to participate. Schools may mail checks to host school (CHCA), however, please bring a copy of your purchase order. Please visit the registration table to take care of payment and retrieve meet packet.

Entry Deadline: Entries must be made through Alabama Runners by Tuesday, February 25, 11:59PM. No entries will be taken after that time! Performance list will hopefully be posted on Alabama Runners mid-day on Friday, February 28.

ORDER OF EVENTS:
We plan to run all events according to the following times, however, as we all know, not all meets run according to plan. We will make first, second, and final calls for all events. Our goal is to have a safe, quality track and field competition.

FIELD RELAYS
8:30 AM
Field Event Warm-ups begin. Except discus.

9:00 AM
Boy's Javelin; Girl's Javelin to begin 30 minutes after Boy's Javelin competition is completed..
o All javelins are open to the field.
o All javelins must have rubber tips.
Girl's Shot Put; Boy's Shot to begin 30 minutes after Girl's Shot competition is completed.
o We will provide shots for competition. Please leave your shots at home.
o The Meet referee will declare the ones used for competition.
Boy's High Jump; Girl's High Jump to begin 30 minutes after by Boy's High Jump competition is completed.
Girl's Pole Vault; Boy's Pole Vault to begin 30 minutes after by Girl's Pole Vault competition is completed.
Boy's Triple Jump; Boy's Long Jump to begin 30 minutes after by Boy's Triple Jump competition is completed..
Girl's Long Jump; Girl's Triple Jump to begin 30 minutes after by Girl's Long Jump competition is completed.

Awards Presentation

Entries: Each school will be limited to 1 relay team per event. Field event and hurdle relays will consist of a two person scoring relay. You will be permitted three entries per field event and hurdle relay. You may enter an athlete in more than four running relay events; however, he/she may only compete in four.

JV Open 1600m: Any participant for the JV Open 1600m cannot compete on any of the Varsity relay races. Please email entries to meet director by the entry deadline.

Sanctioning: The meet will be sanctioned for members of the AHSAA (Alabama), MHSAA (Mississippi), and FHSAA (Florida). No exceptions.

Scratches/Substitutions: Substitutions for relay events will be permitted. Names for athletes who are subbed for in field or hurdle events will remain the same as the athlete name submitted during registration. Each athlete can compete in a maximum of four relay events. Any athlete that competes in five or more relay events will be disqualified, thus disqualifying each relay he/she participates in (Rule 4, Section 2, Article 2).

Appeals: Any appeal must be given to the meet referee in writing accompanied with $25.00 within 30 minutes of infraction. If appeal is upheld, the money will be refunded. Appealable offenses are misapplications of NFHSA rules. Judgment calls cannot be appealed. Please have your rule book with you when appealing any infraction.

Event Scoring: 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1
Field events are scored as relays with the distances of your top two athletes best marks combined together.
o Any recorded marks, whether or not they meet minimum standards, will be used in determining scoring for events.
The hurdle races must have two competitors with their times added together to score.

Awards:
Team Trophies 1st and 2nd Place; Boys and Girls Division
T-shirts for Top Relay Teams in each event.
Richmond Brown Outstanding Performance Award
o Athletes are nominated by coaches.

Field Event Minimum Standards:
DUE TO THE LARGER THAN ANTICIPATED NUMBER OF TEAMS ENTERED FOR THIS COMPETITION, MINIMUM STANDARDS HAVE BEEN ADJUSTED; ALL ATHLETES WILL RECEIVE ONE MARK FOR THEIR FIRST NON FOUL ATTEMPT AS LONG AS THEY DONT FOUL ALL THREE ATTEMPTS

*Standards may be adjusted before meet.
Athletes in the horizontal jumps and throws will receive 3 attempts (no finals).
All throws will be taken two and then one time to expedite the competition (2 + 1).
o An athletes first non-foul attempt will be measured.
o For each following attempt, he/she must meet the minimum standard to receive a measurement.

Parking: All Vehicles should park in the Gamma Parking Lot located north of the track facility. No vehicles should park between the Mitchell Center and track facility.

Dressing: There will be no dressing rooms or showers; however, portable restrooms are available.

Concessions: There will be full concessions sold.

Track Officials: Port City Track Officials Association

Coaches Boxes: When coaching at a field event, all coaches must be inside of the coaching box. Field officials will be instructed to ask a coach to leave if he/she cannot follow directions.

Results: All results will be submitted to Alabama Runners.
