54th Annual Ed Wells Jr. - Kiwanis Invitational 2016

Clearwater, FL

Meet Information

The 54th Annual Ed Wells Jr.-Kiwanis Invitational will be held on March 11, 2016. This meet is run in accordance to the National Federation of High Schools Track and Field rules. Medals are awarded to the top eight places in every event, champion and runner-up trophies are presented to the top two teams for each gender, and as always, two coaches from each team are provided with a free meal voucher. The entry fee this year is $125 per school. That includes both the boys and girls team. If only one team competes, the fee is $65. No refunds. Teams must register by 11:59pm on Monday, March 7th to be entered, and this deadline will not be extended for any reason.

Implement weigh-in starting at 2:00. Coaches meeting at 2:15. Field events begin at 2:30. Prelims for the running events begin at 3:00. Consolation heats for non-qualifiers in the 800 and 1600 will be run at 6:00. The finals will begin at 7:00.

A reminder: In fairness to all teams, each school may only enter two athletes per event (unlimited entries for the 800 and 1600, with ALL non-qualifiers running in consolation heats at 6:00). Throws and horizontal jumps will be limited to top 24 marks entered. Vertical jumps will be limited to the top 16 marks entered. The following events will be limited to the top 16 qualifying times registered and will not have prelims: 400, 300H, 800, 1600, 3200

Races of 800 meters or more will have only one heat in finals. Qualifiers in throws and horizontal jumps will be given four attempts with no finals.

When registering your athletes you may use past seasons PRs, but please be realistic and please do not list fictitious times or distances. Also, please do not register athletes who are unlikely to participate as no additions or substitutions will take place.

Consolation Heats will be run after Prelims for those that dont qualify in the 800 and 1600 from 6pm to 7pm. Please enter ALL athletes you wish to run in the 800 or 1600. Ignore the two athletes per event rule for these races only.
Coaches will be responsible for getting the times of their athletes in the consolation races. A clock will be run for the athletes, but their times will NOT show in the official results. These are consolation races and will not be recorded by the timing staff.

If you have been invited to the meet and require the password to register, email RJ Denton at dentonr@pcsb.org. If you have volunteers or coaches who wish to assist with any of the field events their help is welcomed and appreciated.
