Hands & Hearts for Horses Veterans Day 5K and 1-mile Fun Run/Walk
Date: Sunday, Nov. 11th, 2018
General Info:
Hands & Hearts for Horses is a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization located in Thomasville, Ga. We provide therapeutic horseback riding services to all people over the age of 4 with any degree of cognitive, physical, behavioral or emotional disability or special need. We have been serving our community since 2000 and currently serve about 90 clients a week from Thomas, Grady, Colquitt, Mitchell and Lee Counties and Leon County in Florida.
We will be hosting our 1st Annual HHH Veterans Day 5k Run and 1-mile Fun Run/Walk on Nov. 11, 2018 with the Fun Run starting at 1:00 pm, followed by the 5K at 1:45 pm. The routes will start and end at our facility on Lower Cairo Road, and run by some the beautiful plantations of South Georgia.
We encourage all race participants to fundraise for this event! The proceeds of this race with go to support therapeutic riding activities at Hands & Hearts for Horses, and in honor of Veterans Day, 10% of the proceeds with be donated back to a local Veterans support organization.
For the race, we will be handing all participants a red poppy with a yellow ribbon. The red poppy honors Americas soldiers who have died in battle, while the yellow ribbon signifies remembrance and love of a service member.
After the race, join us downtown to watch the Veterans Day parade in downtown Thomasville and take advantage of some of the savings in your swag bag!
Time: Race Day Late Registration is from 12:00 pm 1:00 pm for both events
5K starts at 1:45 pm, 1-mile Fun Run/Walk starts at 1:30 pm
Place: Race begins/ends at the entrance of Hands & Hearts for Horses.
REGISTRATION: *All Registration comes with t-shirt and swag bag
REGISTRATION BEFORE 10/27:
5K Run/Walk - $20 plus $2.50 sign up fee
1-mile Fun Run/Walk $15 plus 1.50 sign up fee, children under 8 walk FREE
**All HHH participants can also participate in either race FREE.
AFTER 10/27: $10 to all registration fees.
