Meet Information
The King of the Hill 5K challenge is a competition for runners of all levels: Beginner to elite! This year we will have two separate races. One race will be for the regular 5K crowd (The open 5K), who runs for fun and competes for the top 3 in each age group awards. The other race will be an Elite invitational! This is something very new to South Florida and is the most anticipated event to start the running season. The great thing is that if someone is competing in the Open 5K they can still watch the fastest runners in the South compete on the toughest course in South Florida immediately after the Open 5K.
New this year at the King of The Hill "ELITE 5K" and "OPEN 5K"
The Elite 5K is reserved only for runners who can run under 17:00 minutes for the men and 20:00 minutes for the women. To be accepted into this race is very prestigious and the fastest runners in South Florida will be in attendance. There is a reduced entry fee for High School runners and Collegiate runners of $10.00. All runners entering this race must be able to verify previous 5K times if asked.
High School and College teams: Only the top 5 runners from each team will score and other runners will be used for tie breaking purposes.
Competitors in the Elite race have registered from all areas of South Florida.
