Download2007 HANDBOOK AND RULES (not updated for 2008 yet, but no significant changes)

Summary of Rules:

Sanction:  The state meet will be sanctioned by the USATF.  Teams or athletes competing do NOT need to be member of the USATF; however, we will be using the USATF rulebook as our guide, so coaches should be at least vaguely familiar with them.

Team Uniforms:  Team uniforms WILL be allowed.  Any school team competing whose school is a member of the FHSAA should be aware that they should NOT wear their school official uniforms.  Alternate team attire should be worn; however, we will not be enforcing this.  It is up to the coach to do so.  FHSAA schools will violate FHSAA rules if they do not adhere to this.

Entries:  There are no limits on the number of participants a club or team may enter in any one event. This year (different from last year) athletes will be able to compete in up to FOUR events, including relays. There will not be minimum marks for Field events, as we want to encourage participation as much as possible in this meet.

Hurdles Heights:  We will be following USATF Youth rules for the hurdle heights.  The 100 Meter Hurdles will be set at 30 inches for girls and 33 inches for boys.  The 200 Meter Hurldes will be set at 30 inches for both boys and girls.

Shot/Disc Weights:   USATF Youth rules apply for implement weights.  Discus is 1kg for both boys and girls.  Shot is 4kg for boys and 6lbs. for girls.
