The newest commit of the 2017 graduating class, comes out of Leon High School in Tallahassee, FL. Matthew Cashin, who finished 8th in 3A at the FHSAA Cross Country Finals, will be heading down I-10 to run for the University of North Florida.  We caught up with Cashin to talk about his high school career and what the future holds.

Gear, a three-time state champion, winning the 1,600 m in 2015, and the 1,600m and 3,200 in 2016, decided to continue her running career at Furman University. Fun fact. If you rearrange the letters in Fletcher senior Kayley Delay's name it spells "Yale Yale KD." Maybe she was born to attend the Ivy League University, and third oldest institution of higher education in the United States. Delay, arguably the top female distance recruit in the state of Florida with personal bests of 4:57.93 (1,600m), 10:30.30 (3,200m), and 17:37.40 (5k XC). She was the 4A 3,200m state champion , 1,600m runner up, and Cross Country Finals runner-up in 2016. 



North Ft. Myers' Kayla Easterly Commits To FSU Todd Grasley Nov 15, 2016

North Fort Myers senior Kayla Easterly had the best race of her high school career at the 2016 Cross Country Finals. Easterly was third in the 3A race with a monster PR of 18:14.51 which caught the eye of the FSU coaching staff. She felt right at home with the Seminoles and the coaching staff and recently signed with the Noles. We talked to her about the recruiting process, the decision, and her goals for 2017.


Geaux Tigers: LSU Nabs Nation's #2 110mH In Damion Thomas Todd Grasley Nov 12, 2016

Perennial power LSU dipped into the Sunshine State and grabbed the nation's #2 110mH Damion Thomas of Northeast High School. Thomas owns a personal best of 13.42 and is a two-time 4A state champion in that event and was runner-up as a freshman in 2014. On the international level, he is the 2016 CARIFTA Games gold medalist and was a member of the IAAF World U20 Championship team for Jamaica. He posted the fastest time of the prelims, 13.48 (-0.8m/s) and looked like a sure fire medal pick before falling in the next round. We caught up with him to talk about his decision and plans for the 2017 track season.
