The West Orange Jamboree Run will bring together some of Central Florida's top talent for a preseason tune-up. Over a dozen teams will head to Winter Garden, Florida Saturday morning. The boy's race features four guys who have gone under 17 minutes, while the girls race has Megan Hannah of the home team Warriors along with Emily English of George Jenkins, both have sub 19 minute personal bests. Merritt Island boys and girls are the favorite to sweep the team title. Flrunners.com will be on-site with race video, interviews, recap, results, and more!
Entering the 2015 season the girls of Fort Walton Beach knew this would be their best shot at a podium finish with four experienced seniors at the front of the lineup. Runners will toe the line this weekend for one final tune up before the regular season. From Immokalee to Pensacola and in between the morning dew of cross country courses will be waiting. One of the largest meets is the Warrior Jamboree Run which features over a dozen teams. We preview all of the action!
Emily English leads the ladies of George Jenkins at the Polk County Championships at Ridge Community High School in Davenport. On the boy's side Casey Brady of McKeel Academy is the favorite to take home the individual title and guide his team to an easy win. We crunch the numbers in our virtual meet!
A total of ten more teams have been added to the presitigious Race Of Champions at the flrunners.com Invitational. The meet is just ten days away and runners and spectators are eagerly waiting in anticipation. This is the third round of teams to be announce with the newest teams at the bottom of each list. Four more slots will be awarded in the coming days to complete the field. In addition, to this exciting news both days of the meet will be livestreamed, so if you can't make the race or have family or friends that want to watch don't worry.
The 2014 Run with the Bulls Invitational at Wiregrass Ranch High School resumed after a one-year hiatus on Saturday. The faces of the 2012 meet were nowhere to be found Saturday as a new host of victors took the stage. In 2012, the Land O'Lakes Gators dominated the boys. In 2014, it was Class 4A state champion in the 1600m and 3200m Plant senior Jack Guyton that stole the show. Guyton was flanked by familiar foes in the early going. Jack Rogers of Robinson and Noah Perkins of Seffner Christian both gave chase to Guyton early on.
On Saturday October 19, 2013, Polk County cross country began several new traditions. The first was running in Lakeland at Holloway Park, a course known by many as one of the toughest ones in the county. Holloway Park would end up being the perfect venue for Saturday’s meet as Polk County would also have their first ever middle school 3K championship. The course for the 5K and the 3K were no different than any of the other meets that were held at the park earlier that year.
St. Cloud hosted the St. Cloud XC invitational this Saturday. There were over 25 teams from central Florida as well as one from central Georgia. The weather was actually pleasant when you compare it to the rain soaked races we have had the past few weeks.
It was a warm and muggy morning in Pasco County for the Mitchell Invitational. Andy Warrener was on-site with a full recap and over 200 photos of all the action.
LAKELAND | Jose Perez ran well ahead of the pack in the FHSAA’s Class 3A, District 7 cross-country meet Thursday afternoon to claim 1st place out of 69 runners. The Hornets’ senior ran the 5K course at Tenoroc with 16:41.57 to advance to the regional championship. (via polkpreps.com)
