It was a special day at Leto High School as the 45th running of the Nash Higgins Relays took place. Jeff Adams was on-site and captured just shy of 2,000 photos of all the track and field action as well as the Hall of Fame induction ceremony!

In the latest article in the XC Legacy Series, an extensive project by MileSplit editor Aron Taylor to honor the great teams of the past, Coach Bobby Ennis' 1984 Leto team was ranked 10th in the nation for the year. Leto's longtime rival in the 70s and 80s, Coach Brent Haley's Largo, was announced as national champs in the 1983 rankings. Leto's Long Red Row had many classic battles with Largo over the years and this is probably not the last year these two teams will make an appearance in the national rankings of the XC Legacy Series. On a side note, we will be visiting with Coach Haley on Tuesday at his home and posting that video interview in a number of parts as soon as possible. Two of Florida's greatest running coaches will finally get what they deserve tonight: a place in the FHSAA Hall of Fame. Bobby Ennis and John Hemmer will be inducted tonight along with six others at a Tampa awards ceremony.
