Tyler Copeland was on-site at The First Academy for the 3A-2 and 1A-3 super regional and captured over 1,000 photographs including this photo finish between Edgewater and Auburndale in the 3A boys 4x100m relay. The Eagles won by two one-hundredths of a second!
The 2015 Metro Conference Championship will feature the best of the best from Orange County split up into the east and west divisions battling it out at Wedgefield Golf Course. Runners will toe the line this weekend for one final tune up before the regular season. From Immokalee to Pensacola and in between the morning dew of cross country courses will be waiting. One of the largest meets is the Warrior Jamboree Run which features over a dozen teams. We preview all of the action!
It was a great 2012-2013 in both cross country and track across the Sunshine State. Many of our seniors will soon be on their way to start their college careers both athletically and academically so we wanted to salute them one more time in this special feature.
Edgewater went 1-2 in the boys varsity race with sophomore Joe Thrailkill and junior Mark Irons running personal bests of 16:33.70 and 16:53.20. Dr. Phillips did the same feat on the girls side with Amber Johnson getting the win in a new personal best time of 18:32.90. Teammate Bridget Blake was second in 18:54.20. Olympia swept both the varsity boys and varsity girls team titles.
Former Edgewater star Will Bridges is currently a red shirt freshman running for Florida State University. During his time at Edgewater, Bridges finished in the top ten in the 1600 meter outdoors his junior and senior year and finished ninth at the 3A Cross Country Finals his senior year.
