In His Own Words: Ari Cogdell - Track Pointers 101 Todd Grasley Feb 20, 2015

A famous medieval poet once stated, "Have patience. All things are difficult before they become easy." I thought this was the perfect metaphor for reaching your PRs in track and field. I always believed the early invitational in the beginning of the season serve a purpose for technique and race strategy purposes, but never expect to get your fastest times in the first few track meets.

4A State Finals Virtual Meet (Based On Regional Results) Todd Grasley Apr 29, 2014

The races to watch will be in the sprints as St. Thomas Aquinas' thoroughbreds face off against the likes of last Kaylin Whitney and Dominique Bullock. Whitney was the 3A 100 and 200 meter state champion as a freshman. Diamond Spaulding who transferred from American Heritage for her junior season was the 2A state champion in the 200 and runner-up in the 100. Just like on the girl's side the boys sprints should be loaded with the likes of Terry Jernigan and Andre Ewers, but will be without last year's 100 meter state champion and 200 meter runner-up Amir Rasul who is out with a hamstring injury. STA girls should win easily while the boys will face a challenge from American High School who is peaking at exactly the right time!
