South Dade Express rolled into College Station, Texas for the Texas A&M High School Indoor Classic this weekend. Coach Barry Cooper shares with us some photos from their trip.
Florida sprinters Jan'Taijah Ford, Kayla Johnson, and Daneisha Woodside went to the Texas A&M High School Indoor Classic and posted the top three times in the nation in the 400m dash.
South Florida speedsters Tyrese Cooper and Symone Mason snagged silver medals in the 200m dash at the Pan American Junior Championships.

If you want to be the best you have to beat the best. With that being said all roads run through Miami Northwestern. The Lady Bulls have won eight consecutive state championships and are an easy favorite to win number nine in May. The Lakewood Ranch girls won the 4A state championship in 2016. Can they repeat in 2017? Will Miami Northwestern win their 9th title in a row and what will the point spread be? We rank EVERY team in EVERY classification using our track and field team scores feature.
The Southridge girls finished just six points behind 4A state champions Lakewood Ranch in 2016. It's an impressive feat when you take into account they didn't come in first in any event. Of the point scorers on that squad, they return all but two members, including sprinters Symone Mason, Shaniya Williams, and Kayla Johnson, as well as jumper Courtney Gibson and are the favorites to bring home the title.

The Southridge Spartans boast three of the top female sprinters in the country in Shaniya Williams, Symone Mason, and Kayla Johnson. Mason and Johnson will continue their college careers as teammates at the University of Miami while Williams will also remain in state and head north to Orlando and run for UCF.
Freshman Jordan Shapiro of Miami Palmetto lead a 1-2-3 sweep for the class of 2020. Shapiro clocked a PR time of 19:02.58 on a tough Larry & Penny Thompson Park course to win her first race of the year and first ever regional title in 4A-4. Ferguson edged out Lourdes 44-59 for the team title.
Over two dozen teams traveled to Larry and Penny Thompson Park in Miami for the 305 Classic. Our South Florida correspondent Eddie Romero was on-site and captured all the race video and interviews from the afternoon section that included wins by Key West's Nicole Matysik and Cavan Wilson of Coral Gables.
The ladies of Northeast High School posted the second fastest 4x100m relay time of the year, a 3:44.01, but it came against rival Miami Northwestern with a 3A championship on the line. The victory was the first ever in that race over the Bulls, who clocked a state leading 3:43.19 at the 3A Region 1 Championship. Take a look at the top 500 girls 4x100m relay marks in 2016.

Miami Northwestern is looking for it's 8th straight girls state title. They are not just the top team in Florida, but one of the best in the entire country. The next three teams also hail from South Florida in Miami Southridge, Northeast (Oakland Park), and St. Thomas Aquinas. Miami Northwestern junior Twanisha Terry was first in the 100 and second in the 200m at last year's GMAC Championship and is the top seed in both coming into Tuesday's championship. She'll be tested by the Southridge duo of Shaniya Williams and Symone Mason. We merged the results of both the south and north qualifiers to see who has the top/marks to beat.
Miramar boys could win the 4A state championship. Yes, you heard that right the Patriots are favored in our team rankings over the likes of powerhouse St. Thomas Aquinas. If they can pull out the "W", it'd be a first in school history. On the girls side, Southridge is LOADED. The Spartans have the sprint talent and field depth to make the 4A race no contest. For this edition of Workout Wednesday, Brad Raposo headed over to Southridge High School where the Spartans were fine tuning their relay handoffs and preparing for another battle with South Florida foe Miami Northwestern at this weekend's Louie Bing Classic.
The Miami Northwestern girls are looking for their EIGHTH STRAIGHT state title and headline the Super 25 girls team scores which has four South Florida teams in the top four spots. Where does your squad rank?
St. Thomas Aquinas has a string of three straight state championships in 4A dating back to 2013. In 2012, the Raiders' girls were runner-up. According to our team scores, they are the favorites again to win it all, but not so fast. If you take out the 38 points slated for senior Khalifa St. Fort who is competing unattached this season and training under Olympian Ato Boldon, fellow South Florida teammate and 2015 runner-up Southridge is sitting in prime position to end the Raiders reign at the top.
IAAF World Junior Youth Championship qualifier Symone Mason jump started 2016 with a pair of US#2 performances at the Texas A&M High School Classic in College Station, but she wasn't the only South Dade Express sprinter who saw success this weekend.

The top teams in our girls Super 25 reside in South Florida with Miami Northwestern, Southridge, and Ransom Everglades in Dade County and Hallandale, St. Thomas Aquinas, and Northeast in neighboring Broward. The GMAC Championship is the largest conference championship in the state and features Miami's best teams. Last week, the qualifiers took place with the south region and north region competing separately for a ticket to this meet on the line. The Lady Bulls posted 188 points to win the Hallandale Invitational over the host Chargers and Miami Southridge ranked number two and number four in our Super 25. The ladies of Miami Northwestern are a South Florida powerhouse and at the 2015 Louie Bing Classic they went head to head with St. Thomas Aquinas, but it was no contest. The Bulls bulldozed the Raiders 182-124.5 in the team standings. They are the top team in our girls Super 25 Power Rankings.

The St. Thomas Aquinas girls picked up their second consecutive 4A title in 2014. The ladies lose quarter-miler Kendall Ellis who is now at USC, but return an uber talented lineup headlined by two of the top sprinters in the nation in Texas A&M signees Diamond Spaulding and Krystal Sparling as well as distance standout Alexa Cruz just to name a few. While the altitude bothered some, it didn't matter when they finished the weekend off with medals around their necks. These rankings were calculated by scoring the rankings as a meet. We scored 25 deep for individuals and 25 deep for relays.For example, for individuals 1st place received 25 points for their team, on down to 1 point for 25th place.
We crunched the numbers in each class to see how the top teams would fare against one another, but what if class didn't matter? Which team is the BEST in Florida? We scored ten deep for individuals and ten deep for relays with first place receiving ten points on down to one point for tenth place.
The recruiting process got off to a slow start for Miami Southridge senior J'Nea Bellamy. However, as the season progressed, and her times dropped, the phone started ringing.
