The polo grounds in The Villages, a golf cart community of more the 75,000 retirees, welcomed 20+ local teams Thursday afternoon for the VHS Buffaloes Invitational. The charter school, for the employess of the thriving community, played host school for what the Coach Chris Murray remembers as “at least the 9th or 10th meet here”. This course is also home to the Lake/Sumter county championships, and will host the 2A district 6 meet this year as well.
Former Belleview standout Anne-Marie Blaney continued her running career at the University of Central Florida. During her time at Belleview she was a three-time district champion in cross country and placed in the top ten at states in 2010 and 2011. As a freshman she has quickly become one of the top performers for the Knights distance program.
Belleview senior Anne-Marie Blaney has found the right fit to continue her running career. Belleview senior Anne-Marie Blaney is peaking again at the right time running a new personal best 17:39.10 on a fast McKethan Lake course in Brooksville to win the 3A District 6 championship.
