Pasco's Alfreda Steele started off the new year and 2016 season running 7.69s for 60m at the Hoover Alumni Speed Invitational in Birmingham, Alabama. Her mark is tied for US#4, but still a good amount slower than her personal best of 7.47 that she ran in the semifinals of New Balance Indoor Nationals.
The University of Miami landed one of the top sprinters in the country when Pasco's Alfreda Steele chose the Hurricanes over offers from South Carolina, FSU, Nebraska, and Texas A&M. Steele is a three time state champion winning gold in the 100 and long jump in 2015 and 200m dash in 2014. Her personal best time of 11.33 at the Brooks PR Invitational is the second fastest returning time in the nation behind fellow Floridian Khalifa St. Fort who recently committed to UCLA.
Pasco High School rising senior Alfreda Steele will test her speed at the 2015 Brooks PR Invitational against some of the top sprinters in the country. Steele, the 2A state champion in the 100, has a PR's of 11.44w and 23.91 in the 100m and 200m respectively.

Zach Weaver transferred from Tennessee to Florida for his senior year. As a member of Pasco High School's cross country team, he was 12th at the 2A Cross Country Finals. Tennesse transplant Zach Weaver has plans to shake up class 2A. Weaver moved from Greeneville, Tennessee to Pasco High School in Dade City for his senior season. While in the Volunteer State he finished fourth at the 2013 TSSAA State Track and Field Championships in the 3200m and runner-up in 2014, On the cross country course, Weaver was fifth at the state meet as a junior and finished 55th at Foot Locker South. He was also a part of three Greeneville High School state championship teams (cross country 2011, 2012 and track in 2014). See how his training is going and his outlook on the upcoming season.

Hill, one of the top sprinters in the country was invited to the Brooks PR Invitational in Seattle and Dream 100 in New York City.
