The 3A District 10 meet was held on a cool morning at Eagle Lake Park in Largo, where runners battled to claim their spots at the 3A Region 3 meet in Estero next week. Osceola's girls took home the title, for the second year in a row, and East Lake's boys won their first district title in school history.
3A District 10 at Largo's Eagle Park provided a fantastic battle for second and third in the boy's race, an East Lake sweep in the individual races, and team wins by the Osceola girls and East Lake boys. On Saturday, October 8th, 2016, 16 Pinellas schools met for a county showdown at Sand Key Park, in Clearwater. The runners conquered sugar sand, strong winds, and ran over the infamous hill. Clearwater's girls won by a single point over Osceola and the East Lake's boys took the Championship for the second year in a row, with a 36 point lead.
The Tri-City Classic in Clearwater lived up to it's billing as a battle on the beach. Indian Rocks Christian's Cooper LaBrant proved size doesn't matter while East Lake's Jen Lima pulled away from her competition early on. Sit back relax and enjoy all the race videos and interviews.
The Kiwanis Tri-City Classic at Sand Key Park was more like a battle on the beach as area teams braved the sun and the sand. East Lake's Jen Lima and Indian Rocks Christian's Cooper LaBrant won individual titles while the Osceola girls and East Lake boys took home team trophies.
The Niceville girls finished as the 3A runner-up in 2015, but return six of their top seven from that team with Hannah Schneidewind, Claire Crist, and Erin Eubanks a solid 1-3. Fort Myers has top ranked Krissy Gear, the 3A individual runner-up at the helm for the Green Wave, while mainstay Chiles, the defending champions are ranked third. The Osceola Warriors made two more marks in their school history on Thursday at Eagle Lake Park in Largo. Last week at PCAC, the Osceola girls won their first ever PCAC title. At the 3A-10 meet the girls won their first ever district title and it also marked the first time both boys and girls squads won district titles.

The stage was set for some history to be made. Pinellas County rivals East Lake and Osceola availed themselves as two of the toughest public school squads in the county all season long. The team battles were destined to come down to the top five from each team and it unfolded dramatically at Eagle Lake Park in Largo on Thursday.
The Seffner Christian Invitational will have a new home in 2015 after moving from Sydney Dover Trails to Holloway Park in Lakeland. The 5th Annual Anclote Sharks Invitational Saturday was overshadowed by the FSU Pre-State meet in Tallahassee, but no one told that to the East Lake girls who took the top three spots. However, with only four runners competing, their team score couldn't stick. Instead it would be West Orange taking the girls team title with 28 points to runner-up Palm Harbor with 64. West Orange had two top 10 finishers with Megan Hannah taking fifth in 21:23.1 and Alexandra Miller taking seventh in 21:24.2.

Of the eleven teams entered in the Green Devil Cross Country Meet, ten were from Pinellas County. Steinbrenner from nearby Hillsborough came to crash the party though. Hannah Brookover was equally impressive in the girl's race as the action went down at scenic Crescent Lake Park in St Petersburg. Andy Warrener has the recap of all the action.
Small meets need love too. Pinellas County schools Osceola, Seminole and Largo joined forces at Osceola High School for a tri-meet. Seminole coach Stephen Bain sent in these awesome race videos! The powerhouse teams in Pinellas County held serve Thursday evening at Taylor Park. Palm Harbor girls and Osceola boys were team champions a year ago. This year, the team strength of both squads prevailed.
It was a warm and muggy morning in Pasco County for the Mitchell Invitational. Andy Warrener was on-site with a full recap and over 200 photos of all the action.
Osceola sophomore Hunter McCann has had his eye on winning this meet for a long time. After finishing runner-up a year ago to Jesuit’s Tim O’Loughlin, McCann wasn’t going to let anyone take first place away from him Saturday morning.
Rain and wind and weather ambushed the early season tune up at Crescent Lake Park a year ago. It made scoring the meet next to impossible and half the meet never made it into the books. This year, weather closed in as the girls finished their race and struck as the boys race sent its first few runners across the finish. There was to be no stopping the result tabulation this year. In the face of a deluge, coaches and volunteers consolidated all the soaking score sheets and finished the meet complete with results.
The 51st Annual Ed Wells Jr. Kiwanis Invitational stayed with some conventions and broke completely with others. The Lakewood boys continued their winning ways, while the Osceola girls upset Lakewood and Pinellas Park.
Seminole senior Jacob Hudak won the individual race in a time of 16:11 and led the Warhawks to the team title. Alexis Irwin of Osceola won the girls race for the third consecutive year, but her team came up just short of the title losing to Seminole by just four points.
