In Her Own Words: Kendall Ellis

Hey guys it’s Kendall again. Here’s a first. This weekend the meet is optional, but of course yours truly is required to attend. It’s all good though I’m definitely not bitter about it it’s just another opportunity to run a fast time and improve. As for last week big shout out to my girls team at St. Thomas Aquinas on the win at Sam Burley. So proud of my girls.

It’s about that time of year where school, track, sleep and a social life become harder and harder to manage. They say you can’t have it all.. ehh..somewhat true. It’s all about time management and multitasking. Let’s be real you won’t get all eight hours of sleep but you’ll catch a few zzz’s. A social life? No you won’t get much of that your teammates really become your best friends during track season. School work gets done in the car. Some people have it out with them at meets. Track can sometimes get in the way of things I want to do. For instance my best friend’s sweet 16 on a yacht last year and my own birthday plans that became somewhat nonexistent this year. At the end of the day track is what I love doing and I know it’ll all be worth the sacrifice in the long run. Tell me about your stress stories trying to manage the student-athlete lifestyle or the biggest thing track has ever caused you to miss out on. Comment and let me know.

That’s all for this week. As always go for the gold and best of luck in your training and meets!
