Salute To Seniors: Trevon Constant - West Orange High School

What was your most memorable race?

My most memorable race was the 4x800m relay when my school went to Lake Highland Prep. I  was having some problems with my groin and i didn't even know if i could run with my leg feeling bad. My coach talked to me and asked me if I thought I could start us off  as the first leg and I told my coach of course. Before the race i prayed to God that my leg would feel better and as i started to run I didn't feel anymore pain so I ran my hardest and i put my team in first place. We won and after the race Coach Mitchell gave me a hug and told me i had great form and i had a great meet that day, My team even won the 4x400 which I was in as well and I made it to the finals in the 400m.

Who would you consider your biggest competition over your four years?

My biggest competition were my good friends Daniel Dey, Brylan Slay, and Reggie Glover. They all are great athletes and every race was a challenge racing against them.

What was your greatest accomplishment?

My greatest accomplishment was running with a injury and still getting a PR in the 400m.

If you could do it all over again what would you change about your running career in high school?

If i could do it all over again i wish i could have started running track when i was younger. I always waned t to be a athlete, but I didn't know what sport i wanted to do because I was doing a lot of sports when I was younger.

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?

The most difficult obstacles i had to overcome were an injury in my senior year and my mother getting two surgeries from two car crashes.

What will you miss the most?

I wlll miss my coaches most of all, my teammates, my teachers, and all the peoples who helped me to get to this point in my career.

What advice you would give to younger athletes?

The advice I would give to younger athletes is that school is your first priority and then sports. Don't ever let anyone tell you you can't do something. You can do anything you put your minds to. Also, always train hard.

What influence has your coach had with respect to your performance and overall life goals?

My coach has had a big impact on my life because Coach Breen and I have been through so much together. He was like my second father.

What are your college plans?

My college plan is to study Sports Management and become a personal trainer.

Who would you like to say thank you to?

I would first like to say thank you to my lord and savior Jesus Christ. I would also like to say thank you to my family, Coach Mitchell, James Larsen, Coach White, Coach Boston, and Coach P.
