This week is the week of the AAU Club championships in Orlando at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. This meet is where all the high school athletes come out and strut their stuff before they end their season. Kids come from all over America, from as local as Orlando and as far as Seattle, Washington. July 10th through the 15th, I will be doing a blog to let you know who’s blowing out the competition. Wednesdays events included the 3000m run, the 100m dash and the1600m sprint medley.

The main event of the day though was the 100 meter dash as there were more than 80 kids in each age group. As for the 15 and 16 year old girls, few from Florida stood out and made it to the semifinal. There were a total of 125 girls that ran the 100 meter dash in that age group and majority of the girls ran under 12.8. As for the 17 and 18 year old girls, there were only 90 of them, not as many as the age groups before them, but they did have ample enough competition. Regine Williams of Hallandale High School stole the show with a time of :11.79 The Floridians ladies that were in the top 30 are:

As for the boys 100 meter dash, in the 15-16 year old age group, one man dominated the competition; Andrew James. Andrew stole the show by running 10.97 by himself to get the #1
