FLYRA Adds Elementary 2k To Championship Meet

We are pleased to announce FLYRA is adding a new race to the schedule at the 2013 Florida Middle School Cross Country Championships. Furthering our mission to develop youth running in the state, we have added a 2k race for 1st thru 4th graders. It will be scheduled after the Open Race and no qualifying needed.

Qualification for the Middle School Championship Division will still be the same. And awards will stay the same. The Open race is open to 5th thru 8th graders and does not require qualifying. Awards will change to top five individual girls and boys as well as 1st place girls and boys teams. In the new Elementary Division, we will highlight by grade and gender.

Our focus this year with the new division is to get it off the ground. Then working with our grass roots connections through out the state we can take our passion to the younger levels.

FLYRA thanks you for your continuing support of youth cross country in Florida. It gets exciting every year to see new cross country programs with new kids and parents passionate for the sport.
