VIDEO: Cocoa Big Man Turns On The Burners

Cocoa High School's Freddie Booth-Lloyd always dreamt of being a star on the football field. After his performance at the Astronaut Relays on Saturday, the Tiger's senior has become an internet sensation appearing on numerous websites, but for his track speed.

You see Booth-Lloyd is 6'2 320 pounds, a defensive end on the football team, and a Temple University signee. Not the protypical size for a sprinter, but in the thrower relay you throw size out the window. Getting the baton as the second leg of the 4x100 meter race, check out the big man's footwork and quickness.

We caught up with Freddie to talk about his new famed success.

"All my friends and teammates have seen it already. They were  like you are famous. It's crazy I never thought it was going to blow up this big."

How fast did he think he was going?

"I felt like I ran an 11.8. I was thinking that I had to get to that 3rd leg as fast as I could. It reminded me of running my 82 yard interception back for a touchdown like I did in September."

As for the future, the senior says he plans to keep doing the discus and shot put for the Tigers, but might put himself in a relay or two if coach says it's okay. After his performance Saturday, you never know!

The future Temple Owl says he hopes this serves as an eye opener to people.

"My soul is on the gridiron with the pads and helmet, but that was just a sample of how athletes can come in all sizes."
