VOTE: Yared, Pine Crest Girls, Belen Boys For MileSplit National Performer/Team of the Week

The largest meet in Florida took place this past weekend as the best of the best headed to Chain of Lakes Park in Titusville. Saturday morning Race of Champions pitted those top athletes together in the mud and the muck, to see who would come out on top.

Pine Crest seventh grader Tsion Yared proved that size and age don't mean a thing as she ran away from the competition in a time of 18:33.07, leading her team to the ROC championship trophy as well. The Panthers picked up yet another team title on the season, winning with 107 points, almost a 100 more than runner-up Lake Mary, and clocking a 19:51 team average.

On the boy's side Ryan Rodriguez of Belen Jesuit duked it out with Steven Cross for a majority of the race, but pulled away in the final stretch to get the win and lead the Wolverines to their fifth trophy in a year and six in seven years!  The team won with 63 points, 56 points less than runner-up Lyman and posted a 90 second 1-5 split and team average of 16:36.

Yared, as well as the Pine Crest girls and Belen Boys are up for MileSplit National Performer of the Week/Teams of the Week. Let's bring these honors back to Florida.
